Connor Weigman --- A&M QB to Iowa

If anything they need to stick with a mobile qb… no more statues

sounds like another Cade M

highly touted guy that’s dealt with a lot of injuries

Pass!

I'm convinced we will never learn this lesson. Until we get OL help, unless these backups are studs, none of this matters without mobility.

We have to stop going after the injury riddled QBs.

in lester's defense, the two guys (sullivan and stratton) who came here after he arrived are healthy and can move. whether they turn out great remains questionable but their floor is above the previous guy's ceiling.

I love how anyone can write an article these days with zero substance. There’s not a single quote in the entire article. Might as well start publishing some of our posts.
I guess you haven't been paying attention the last 12 years or so. In fact, you may not have heard about the immigrants who are eating five-star recruits who verbally commit to Iowa or about how underwater alien cities are preparing for war on college sports. Keep up, man.

Exactly. "Struggled with injuries." Hasn't Iowa just been through this with Cade? No doubt a good QB is needed (and I'm not giving up on Sullivan being that guy, I think he can be), but not at the sole expense of other needs in the lineup. Maybe some of the reserves will be ready to step in and play great, but I still think they need help at other positions.

I’m not convinced taking guys in the portal who were benched by their former team is a recipe for success, but we can’t afford or attract the likes of Gabriel or Ward, so what are we going to do. We need depth badly but the long term fix here is building up the young Sullivan to take the reigns by his soph year and continue to fill from within. Hopefully Lester is up to the task.

I would assume someone in the stable at tOSU would be looking for a place to get on the field, maybe that can be a short term option; Moss and Weigman don’t really get you too excited.

Salter would be my first choice of the guys that have announced.

But as a previous poster said, sign me up for a productive, high-level FCS guy hungry to prove himself in the P4.
It's tough, the top Jr. passer in the FCS is probably Sam Vidlak, and he started at Oregon State, transferred to Boise, then Montana, now he has a fantastic year at Stephen F. Austin.

This is so accurate it’s not even funny, but I laughed and spit some of my drink out while sitting in the QC airport. Well said!

Possibly
"Up and down, injury-plagued career."

No thanks. One Cade McNamara was more than enough for an offense that doesn't have great OL play.

Just from reading between the lines, sounds like Riley and USC might have the inside track. I don't know how this plays out statistically but would be interested to see the history of success from guys 'on the rise' vs 'top tiers looking for fresh starts'.

If Will Howard won the starting QB position at osu what does that say about their depth? No thanks.

Will Howard had the 6th best QBR. Almost 3,000 yards and 27-8 TD:INT… not the best of years for an OSU QB but it’s not like he was bad… I would take any OSU back up QB… if big Sully wins than he’s the starter.
One thing is I would imagine is that bringing in some schools back up encourages Sully to stay and fight for the job… not all bad

The talent surrounding him made up for his poor reads and throwing into coverage. He choked in the Michigan game and said so himself.

Watched parts of osu games several times this year and nothing about him impressed me. He’d fail miserably with less talent around him.
