The Denver Nuggets have announced their roster and schedule for training camp for the 2019-20 season. Training camp will take place at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs from Tuesday, October 1st through Saturday, October 5th.

that's the trend in the NBA, you need a mobile center to go up against teams that don't have traditional centers. Tyler will fit that mold.

100% accurate. Jokic already struggles with defense. If Cook's going to contend for PT at the 5 behind jokic with plumlee and bol, he needs to be strong defensively. And plumlee's effort is always 100% even if he struggles. Cook absolutely needs defense and effort if he's going to make it on this team.

A lot of Iowa ties on the team, Bol Bol is Peter Jok's cousin, Monte Morris played at ISU, Tyler Zeller's uncle Al Eberhard is from Iowa, Michael Porter Jr's mom I believe played at Iowa.

That was my understanding. They have 14 players on guaranteed contracts. Cook and one other are signed on two-way contracts, and two others on are on minimums. If I understand correctly, an NBA can have a 15 man active roster during the season (up to 20 in the off season) so it looks like you may have 4 players fighting for one spot. The likelihood is that Tyler spends the majority of the season with the G-league affiliate, but the two-way means they will get at lease a bit of active time on the senior team.

I believe his situation is a bit more tenuous than Cook's. The Warriors have 14 players on guaranteed contracts, and already have given out their two two-way contracts to other players. Thus, looks like four guys on non-guaranteed contracts fighting for one spot...but he's got a shot.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The preseason is inching closer as the Denver Nuggets concluded their penultimate training camp practice Friday morning.

Standout invitees

Tyler Cook, PJ Dozier, Tyler Zeller, Elijah Millsap, Jorge Gutiérrez were all invited by the Nuggets to take part in training camp this summer. All five players are trying to earn a roster spot on the Nuggets or put up positive tape to continue their NBA journeys with other teams. So far, Malone has appreciated the effort shown by the group. He mentioned a few standouts after Friday’s practice.

“Jorge Gutiérrez has been in our gym all September into camp -- what a tough kid,” Malone said. “Competitor, hell of a defender, he doesn't back down from anybody. He pushes all of the guards who are in front of him.

“Tyler Cook is an NBA player. Obviously, you only have a certain number of spots on your roster, but Tyler Cook is definitely an NBA player. (He’s) very big and strong, very vocal on the defensive end, sets screens and rolls…I'm glad he's on my team right now.”
