Cooper DeJean goes #40 overall to Philadelphia (8th Pick of 2nd Round). Signed 4 Year/ $9,283,622 Contract, which included a $3,571,724 Signing Bonus

There are those on here that are less than excited about him going to Philadelphia and their fans.
Don't personally care one way or the other about them, but they ARE a tough crowd.
I am old enough to remember the infamous incident back in the day when they bombarded Santa Claus with snowballs on their sideline!!!
It was a different time.

It sucks that Cooper slipped to #40 but he's still gonna be a rich multi-millionaire the moment he signs his contract. And by not returning to college he's going to be a year further along to his next NFL contract.

Many experts had Cooper being picked by the 25th overall pick. By slipping to #40 he lost approximately $5M (that would be paid out over the 4 years of his contract).

But look at the difference in the first year:

* Last year's #25 pick was paid $7,625,924.

* Last year's #40 pick was paid $4,102,524

The money we're talking about as a player slides in the NFL Draft:

2024: $1,419,183 (this upcoming season)

The #25 pick in last year's draft was Deonte Banks, a CB out of Maryland.

I’m pretty close with you on this, but I do give the edge to Philly as the worst imo. Both fan bases are dumber than a box of funggn rocks, but Philly fans have the added boost of being violent scuzz to other fan bases. Nebraska fans, to their credit, are very welcoming to visiting fans (my experience and perception).
So do Uconn student fans then ‘graduate’ and become Eagles fans?😉

The Eagles. Totally worth dropping to get with that program. Not a bad option at all for him. Maybe he'll be another Desean Jackson type?

Iowa-related draft notes:

Philadelphia now has drafted the second-most Iowa players (17) alongside Detroit. Green Bay has 22.

Cooper DeJean is the 4th Iowa player drafted by Philly under Kirk Ferentz (Marvin McNutt, Julian Vandervelde, Sean Considine).

Iowa now has 19 DBs and OL drafted under Ferentz.

IT WASN’T A F*CKING FAIR CATCH!!!!

(Just needed to say that one last time.)

Another year…..another Hawk taken before the 1st Clown!! Anyone have stats on how often this has been the case over the last 50 yrs? I’m guessing at least 40 times.
Still don’t get the Iowa hate on ISU. I understand the ISU hate on Iowa. Iowa fan Dissing ISU is like Michigan fan dissing MSU; doesn’t make sense and is a waste of our superior position in the pecking order we enjoy.
