When only one player gets post season recognition (honorable mention) maybe a complete rebuild is the way to go.
I don’t dispute that, but Koch is a legacy recruit.
Let the next coach re-recruit him if he wants to. There's no current roster spot that cannot be replaced.
So very well could rejoin the fold with the new coach.
I'm a die hard Iowa fan, but I'd tell my kid to jump in the portal if there was a coaching change and then listen to what the new coach has to say once announced.

This is good news. I think he may be the most important player to keep around. Pryce is important as well.
Going into the portal doesn’t mean a player has to leave. They do need to protect themselves as the next coach may not want any of the current players. To paraphrase Coach Prime, the next coach will bring his luggage (and we hope it’s Louis).
Yes, Cooper and Pryce are the top two I'd want back. I'd take Harding as a backup PG as well. Of course would love to have Dix and Freeman return but that's unlikely it appears.
1 year left compared to presumably 4 for koch.
Im over Freeman, i wouldn’t want him in my locker room. I agree on Harding, I think he could be a solid player in the right system. And EVERY team needs a shooter like pryce! Dix is a loss, but just a 1 year loss
Cooper was a highly regarded recruit with scholarship offers from just about everyone in the Big Ten. It’s a shame we can’t even keep a legacy.
And I couldn't be happier. There was zero upside left with Fran and there's a very good chance Devries did us a favor and allowed Iowa to upgrade to McCollum.

I’m not either, but I was really hoping to see Koch play for Iowa. Not that he couldn’t end up back at Iowa when all is sad and done, but, yeah, I am with you. Given all the bad habits established by a culture lacking in toughness coupled with too many pigmentally challenged hoopers, I agree a near full purge was needed.
Absolutely! I would have been pissed if the new coach didn’t dismiss 70% of the team from their scholarship. At this rate, he won’t have to. Our best players would be complimentary players on decent teams. Need upgrades across the board if we hope to climb out of the cellar.
I saw nothing from this player that makes me worried about his departure.
