I can see schools dropping basketball because they can't get players and coaches that don't want to put up with this @#$% every year.

It’s mildly entertaining, definitely embarrassing and completely sad watching someone have a complete breakdown over something so trivial. It just goes to show how important it is to put down the phone, step away from the computer and get outside and go for a walk or some other outdoor activity. It’s good for everyone’s mental health.
Fran, I don't know you, but I respect how much good information you bring to this site. Maybe, you might want to step back or even use the ignore feature if there are certain posters who get under your skin.Oh, Insane one.
A complete mental breakdown? There you go again, attempting to use mental health as a weapon on here. It's indefensible.
I will say it again; I hope you don't use mental health as a weapon against your trans son like you do on here. I also hope that your trans son is not bullied, like you attempt to do on here.
You wrote that this is all "mildly entertaining" to you. Would it be mildly entertaining to you if your trans son harmed himself or worse as a result of bullying?
You're a clown. You're an idiot, who just doesn't get it. Simple as that.
Another big wiff .....Welp, take this guy off the board

Not taking sides or trying to get involved, just trying to bring peace.
Welp, take this guy off the board
They had a "Vision" for me..Welp, take this guy off the board
Need to get him to visit Iowa City.
Don’t like see slick Rick and St. John’s involved with him.
WVU also has much deeper pockets than us.Don’t like see slick Rick and St. John’s involved with him.
Hopefully Ben’s working overtime on the portal, which I’m sure he is, and it’ll payoff in the long run. I don’t care what the team looks like next year, and if we lose we lose, it’s still better than another year of Fran.WVU also has much deeper pockets than us.
Sucks how hamstrung we are in this NIL game. I know there’s still time, but we have zero recruiting momentum right now.
Agreed, staying with Fran any longer wasn't getting us anywhere. Hopefully Ben can get some of the players he wants - I recall him saying himself in his introductory presser, something to the effect that Beth had given him the resources he needs. What exactly he meant by that (hopefully solid NIL dollars) wasn't clear, but he wasn't talking like he was handcuffed. Or maybe it was just intro presser hyperbole, but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for the time being.Hopefully Ben’s working overtime on the portal, which I’m sure he is, and it’ll payoff in the long run. It’s kind of sad that WV, a state with population of 1.7 million (vs. 3.2 million in IA) and a largest town of 45k, has deeper pockets!? Have you ever been to WV? That “Buck Wild” show was no exaggeration. C’mon Iowa!WVU also has much deeper pockets than us.

Yes, I've been through there and it's hilariously like deliverance. And all I can think about are the Whittakers. It’s kind of sad that WV, a state with population of 1.7 million (vs. 3.2 million in IA) and a largest town of 45k, has deeper pockets!? Probably helps not to have a West Virginia State dividing the fan base. It’s kind of sad that WV, a state with population of 1.7 million (vs. 3.2 million in IA) and a largest town of 45k, has deeper pockets!? Have you ever been to WV? That “Buck Wild” show was no exaggeration. C’mon Iowa!

If we combined our football/basketball talent, we would easily rival Wisconsin and absolutely dump all over Minnesota (which we largely do anyway).Yeah, Iowa should really only have one "major" university ala Minnesota and Wisconsin.
I think your second paragraph is the answer.IDK “zoom meeting” is better than nothing, I suppose, but it doesn’t engender much buzz. If coaches were seriously interested wouldn’t they cover the cost of an airline ticket and hotel room?
In any event, don’t want to be too critical ….maybe the recruit wants zoom calls first in order to narrow the list. it’s a foot in the door.
Big East is all about BB, while the B1G and other major conference split revenues between FB and BB, and other sports. The Big East is Basketball only league and is trying to stay relevant by increasing the revenue sharing for MBB above other conference norms. I think the numbers I saw was Big East MBB TV brings in $7.2 million per team from TV and the Big East wants to put $5.7 million per team of revenue sharing per team
The Big10 has highest revenue at $10.8 million per team from media rights for MBB, but is only going to throw $3.5 million/yr at MBB. The Big10 has the resourses to put more money towards revenue sharing, but Big10 seems to be doing okay in NCAA tourney even though its been behind the curve on NIL. MSU has a Billionaire. Indiana seems to have a lot of money. Michigan has some money. IF the Big East ends up dominating next year in MBB, I think the Big10 will have to step up its MBB revenue sharing money.
The Big10 just won the Football Nationa Title thanks to having the most NIL....Oregon and Ohio State.
I think in MBB that the Big10 will end up being top conference because Big10 has the national media eyeballs/population footprint to bring in the most TV money and that will feed back to more wins, more media money, more NIL.
I don't think it was coincidence that the Big12 and SEC did pretty well in NCAA tourney because those two conferences jumped on NIL early. I think we'll see Big12 fall back, other than schools that have Billionaire sponsors. The ACC appears to be dead last in Revenue sharing....so only Duke was good--because they have big money behind them, but rest of ACC not so good.
Houston is doing well on supposedly low NIL, but I read that Billionaire Tillman Fertita might be bankrolling them, so they might
not be doing it on the cheap.
Agree that Josh Lewis should be a target. I don't do premium, but Duke, the center from Grand Canyon looks like he would be a great fit. If Huff's size is OK with BMc, he also could help as a shooter and ballhandler.
Nothing against Briscoe and Diakite, but I think the reality is that the new staff thinks they can do better.
I think the staff would be wise to try and get Briscoe and Diakite, two guys with size and athleticism. Lewis would be an AWESOME get.Nothing against Briscoe and Diakite, but I think the reality is that the new staff thinks they can do better.
As for Lewis, it seems unlikely that he will end up at Iowa.

Only a little more than an hour away from Pittsburgh, thoughIt’s kind of sad that WV, a state with population of 1.7 million (vs. 3.2 million in IA) and a largest town of 45k, has deeper pockets!? Have you ever been to WV? That “Buck Wild” show was no exaggeration. C’mon Iowa!
Some of you need to be a little more self-aware regarding these "deliverance" comments. I mean, you have walked through the Iowa State Fair Midway, right? Or a Walmart in Ottumwa, Fort Dodge, Counciltucky....Yes, I've been through there and it's hilariously like deliverance. And all I can think about are the Whittakers.
Interesting.Yep!
Do you know the name of Houston's home arena?Tilman Fertitta also owns the Houston Rockets. He is supposedly worth 10.8 billion dollars. And, he is the chairman of the University of Houston system.
