Cooper

Still a work in progress from what I heard a couple weeks ago. He may have to try for the 6th year or call it quits. Too bad if so, as we could have really used him this year. Same with Duzey.

I thought I had heard that Duzey was actually ahead of schedule with his recovery and might be able to see action sooner than first anticipated. Cooper on the other hand looks like he is still a long ways from being cleared to play.

According to Ferentz at Big Ten Media day in Chicago, Cooper still not back. He was hopeful, but in the same sense, it might not be realistic. He's not back yet. They haven't given up hope, but it just doesn't seem likely.

Will probably get more of an update on Duzey today at media day. In Chicago, Kirk basically said he's doing well, but that the next month as he gets more active, will be the key time frame. Still on track for September return, but it's unsure if it will be early/middle/or late.

Cooper is done guys. He is still rehabbing the knee and is nowhere near game speed even if he could physically play. It sounds like a possible career-ender. It's very unfortunate.

People said Dace Richardson was done too...but he came back for his 6th year and turned some heads and I believe ended up in an NFL camp. Hopefully Cooper can take this year to rehab and be back for a 6th yr and contribute.

He should take this year off then come back strong next year.

Ya, I agree with that on Cooper. If he can make it back, this is not the year.... Now Duzey, we NEED his mad skills. Hopefully he is ahead of schedule! Having him a good or two before the B1G would be huge.

Talked to Cooper today. He had microfracture surgery on both knees. One knee and then the other three months later. He said he's back running and conditioning, but still hasn't been cleared to play. He is still determined to play this year, but that's a hell of a surgery to come back from on one knee, let alone both of them.

Micro fracture surgery is tough to come back from. I had it in 2010 and the knee has not been the same. Then again i never had access to the staff Cooper has. I would not be surprised if he has to call it a career. Hopefully I'm wrong.
