Cornell College has more D1 NCAA wrestling championships than Cornell University.

Somewhere Coach Duroe is smiling. At one time he was the women's national coach. Speaking of the NCAA championship, this spring is the 75th anniversary of "The Purple" winning both the NCAA and AAU national championships. Very few schools ever accomplished that double, the 1950 Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) being one. In the immediate post-war years they were two of the most dominant teams in the country.
