But it seems to me that when the shot clock is running down on our opponents the ball is always in the hands of one of their shooters or they always find an open guy who is a shooter . However, when the clock is running down on us the ball is in the hands of Connor or Joe T or someone who isn't a shooter and the ball never finds its way to Joe W, Garza or Frederick.

As far as tonight goes, you are 100% correct.

As far as the season goes, I feel like you are almost 100% correct. Garza has had it low a few times. CJ and JBo had a few 3s as well.

Honestly, I think Connor having it at the end is by design. I think the team trusts him to make a good decision (either shooting or finding one last quick pass for a catch and shoot). I think Connor has actually shot pretty well at the end of the clock, although I don't have stats to back it up.

I've noticed this all the time, on each game it happens at least 1-2 times tonight they scored at least points I mentioned this in the game thread a few times. It is almost like they look up at the shot clock with 2 seconds left and then the guy with the ball blows by them when they let up. It is infuriating when you play that good of D and let up right at the end of it and they score multiple times.

Biggest issue with Connor having the ball in that situation is that anyone quicker than him (the majority of guys guarding him) who wants to play any sort of on-the-ball defense is going to force a really bad shot from him.

I misread the OP, I was talking about our shot clock D at end where we let up and opponents get to rim far too often. Yes your OP is also an issue at times.

Connor has many good traits and he's a good all-around player but he is no shooter. Not yet and I don't think he will be because he has to split time with baseball so he can't be in the gym all the time owning a shot. Which is too bad cuz if he had a shot he'd be all American

Agree he's not a "shooter", but with our team, getting a shot up on the rim that everyone knows is going up is probably a good shot unless you're having to alter it to avoid a block. It has a chance to go in, and a chance for us to rebound if it doesn't. My point about making a good decision, which may be a shot is more in him knowing whether he can get a clean-ish look up on the rim, which either lets us score, or attack an offensive board. He's also then back to prevent any fast break opportunities, as we've seen him commit smart fouls at mid court rather than giving fast break opportunities.
