Serious question here. After watching last night, I'm not sure we could if a Pearl Harbor or 9/11 happened. Conspiracy theories aside on how they happened, I was ashamed of how the Democrats acted last night. You don't have to stand up for everything the President says, you can even shout a few things (seems to be the new norm). But to sit during honorary guest are honored....damn, seriously? One of the saddest things I've ever seen during a State of the Union address.

Screw all y'all, and I have zero respect for any of you.

We have the most divisive president in history. He made zero efforts towards unifying the country. Instead, he whined, lied and blamed the Biden administration and Democrats for everything. Clean up your house first.

I'll have to research your posting history to find your condemnation of MTG and Boebert. Sucks to be on the other side, doesn't it.

I dont think we will be very united when there is a Prez who just lies all the time, who spews hate and derision, and who is leading the charge to dismantle the govt.

I didnt watch the speech but heard a bit of it. I didnt see it when you said the Dems would not clap or stand for the guests in the chambers but at the same time how might that be any different or worse from the Repubs laughing and clapping and hooting when Trump totally lies on a super high percentage of his claims and makes fun of other people and situations.

Any Prez who claims 150 year olds are getting SS checks is not worth listening to.

Musk has been in the SS system for a few weeks maybe and Musk already admitted he was wrong about his statement on this. So the PRez has to be mentally deranged to repeat the claim. Unless he now shows us some evidence.

We have been purposely manipulated into division, and it’s been happening for a long time.

The biggest and most dangerous divide in the US is between the rich and the poor. But there are many more poor people. So the lower and middle classes have been tricked into separating along social lines and programmed to hate other groups instead of the rich.

It’s been a very long con. And now, when we are more divided than we have ever been in our lifetimes, the rich are attempting to take more from the lower and middle class than they have in many many years.

Bingo. Still amazing that out of 333 million people, Biden and Trump is the absolute best the Americans can do. Sad.
It is a circular problem because politics is such a shitty business now and it is hard to get anything done. Therefore, a lot of smart, wealthy-enough people dont want to go into politics because they can get more done in the private sector without all the political hits to them.

I still think the Dems can find a moderate, experienced person from the heartland to run in 2028. I have mentioned that KY Gov Beshears fits this model of a Dem winning in a Red State and doing better in his re-election race.

From what I'm reading, because of who a President is, not many would stand united for the country.

I'm glad our grandparents and others throughout time didn't feel this way. Can't imagine how our country or the world would be now if they had such a dumbass view.

STAND YOUR ASS UP FOR HONORARY GUESTS. Period point blank. No exceptions or excuses.

Couldn't agree more @ping72 . It isn't even a Republican and Democrat thing. It's oligarchs v. everyday people. So few on here even realize that.

It's not because of who the president is but instead what he regularly does, says and stands for. He's the president who denigrated a gold star family, prisoners of war and soldiers past and present. Again, I have never seen the OP speak out against him for those actions. Take the plank out of your own eye.

Unfortunately I don't think the Democrats can or will. The pockets of the far left are deep. Watching Biden go from the average Democrat to whatever the hell he was the past 4 years, showed me their true colors.

The party flipped so hard on blue collar workers and immigration, it was a complete 180, just because Trump wanted it.

It's sad, really sad. I didn't vote for the narcissist, but I don't hate him to the point I hope America fails. I sure in the hell wouldn't disrespect the honored guests because I hated the President. Who's worse? Really, who's worse, a narcissist President or representatives who disrespect American citizens?

Yep. One side could bring peace to the entire world, cure cancer, save every single kitty trapped in a tree, balance the budget, and give everyone a mansion and a million bucks… yet somehow the other side would complain.

We’ve been conditioned, played and manipulated into this. Just like with rooting for a sports team, we’re conditioned to hate the opposition. Could be the nicest, most compassionate people in the world. Doesn’t matter, if you’re for the other team, you’re the enemy. Sadly. Somewhere, someplace, there are a lot of extremely rich people in high high places that want it this way. Yet we the people keep falling for it.

Some of what was claimed was debunked. But I will agree he is definitely a narcissist.

So why do you support the billionaires carving our asses up?
I think you missed the point. Trump though a billionaire idiot does not represent the same oligarchs the admins do. Oligarchs none the less. Ukraine is about Ukrainian oligarchs and Dim Oligarchs fighting Russian and R oligarchs

While screaming about our fav oligarchs the R and D politician minions and their perspective oligarchs are raping and pillaging us while we rip apart or pimps.

Keep on cheering Huey. Keep on cheering

Go Hawks

I was disappointed everyone didn’t stand and clap for the little boy with cancer.

The rest, as it relates to “honorary guests,” was a dog and pony show for the unequivocal purpose of further widening the divide in America (which you laughably suggest is the point of your OP): to spread fear and hate of LGBTQ people and minorities. To separate sports by sex (per federal law) and to prevent people from entering the country illegally stand on its own merits. Hate was the underlying message, not heroism of any kind.

As far as I am concerned, they could have paraded out victims of crimes that have been committed against them by criminals with a long rap sheet of violence and child molestation as a means of drumming up support for prison reform. Instead, they want to stoke the flames of hatred by using grieving people as props to send the message there are a bunch of brown people here illegally roaming the streets as predators.

Oh, and how conveniently you forget about MTG and Boebert’s prior performances, so you can stick your self-righteous indignation up your fat ass.

This is the correct answer. And Trump has been masterful at capitalizing on this divide to make his entire political career.

You should see professional for your condition.

Sorry, you have me confused with someone else.

Just the imaginary leaps to keep the "both sides" narrative BS going. The reactionary centrists are as bad as the MAGA's at this point, and enable the hell of them.
And there you have it!

It's my way or no way, boo hoo hoo. I'm a centrist and you can f**k off. The ultra-MAGA can f**k off too. F**k both of the "far sides", you assholes have been getting your ways far too long.

You are as big a MAGA as anyone on the board. Everyone knows this. And MAGA is based on sowing division and discord. That's what it's about, it's what you're doing in this thread. Attacking Democrats and then blah blahing about unity. Go eff yourself. Get yourself professional help for your delusions about yourself.

This is a lot of both sides BS. Trump's policy regarding foreign policy and "world peace" is capitulation to a totalitarian oligarchy headed by a dictator that has a penchant for slices off pieces of neighboring territory. Meanwhile, he is expressing the desire to do the same to our neighbors. Applauding a kid who has survived cancer doesn't help cure cancer, but cutting cancer research funding is counterproductive to actually helping people. New tax cuts, primarily for the wealthy, are going to explode the deficit and then use that same deficit and a justification for making cuts to Medicaid, SS, and/or Medicare. Then, also under the guise of balancing the budget, this administration is going to attempt to auction off our public lands to the highest bidder, allowing the oligarchs who benefited from the budget-busting tax cuts to buy and exploit the lands that formerly belonged to all of us for their own personal gain. Tariffs will cause a recession, incomes will stagnate, and people will lose their jobs. (Trump will brag about how his policies lowered the price of gasoline, and ironically, he will be right.) If they were serious about stemming illegal immigration, they would hit the industries that knowingly employ undocumented workers hard, but they prefer to demagogue, demonize, and dehumanize. Shockingly, the billionaire in charge of finding government waste sees no waste in the funding that benefits his industries. EVERYTHING THEY ARE DOING IS DESIGNED TO BENEFIT THE OLIGARCHS. Count me as someone who isn't on board.
