Yes. The President, along with a portion of Congress and a significant portion of the MAGA base views Putin in a favorable light relative to Zelenskyy and our other European allies.

On politics......probably not? Fortunately this message board does not reflect life where only those obsessed with politics feel compelled to talk about it all the time. It's a topic that absolutely never comes up out at the softball field for example, where 100 players meet everyday. Sports, the weather, entertainment, whatever, no one talks politics because it's a personal thing and no one gives a damn how everyone else feels about that.

Not as long as Trump is in office, and probably not with a Republican in office. It's always on conservatives to swallow their pride and make things work, and it seems like they're tired of it at the moment.

Props or not, they are not elected officials and are brought there as guests. As a representee of the the citizens who vote for them, show some respect. A child of 12 who beats cancer and gets his wishes, gets a f**king standing ovation, no matter who brought him there. Be better than sum.

I guess my point is this. I have worked for bosses over the years I'd just a soon stomp into next week as to look at them., but when it comes to business, I respected the position.

The decorum has changed drastically over the past 20 years. Both parties are guilty of this. It's not one side or the other. Dems acted like asshats during Bush, Republicans acted like asshats during Obama, Democrats acted like asshats during Trump 1 and Republicans acted like asshats during Biden.
All this goes back to my original question. Would we be able to unify?
One way would be, sending Fat ASS Thump to the front lines in Ukraine with his cabinet.

The midterms will tell us the answer to that question. I wouldn’t plan on having free and fair elections in two years. The white elites won’t relinquish power anymore.

Third party will be no different. To win, you have to et then activist vote….and the activist vote is often the “fringe” voter……
If Trump continues on his current trajectory there’s a decent chance he’ll piss off every American within a few years and we reunite in our shared dislike of the man. Seems the most plausible path IMO.
Politically speaking, I just don't see any ground where the two sides agree in principle. Now a lot of that is among the leaders in the country. Maybe I'm mostly insulated living in Florida, but it doesn't seem like the average person takes most of this stuff seriously. If you walked up to an average adult in their 30's or 40's who has a career and a family, they don't want their daughters competing against post-pubescent boys. There are some girls who like to compete in boys' sports because they aren't offered for girls (wrestling comes to mind) and those girls are assuming the risks associated with competing against their male counterparts. But the whole changing my son into my daughter thing is a joke in these parts, and most people think it's so insane that there's really no way it's happening.
Then let's get to the border... LOOK AT THE POLLS... Americans want(ed) a secure border, and like Trump said, we didn't need new legislation we just needed a new president. This was a will issue, Trump has the will to shut it down, Biden did not.
I can't think of one issue where both sides LEADERS agree we have a problem and are just at odds on how to fix it. Basically if one side thinks something is a problem the other side doesn't even want to acknowledge it (Tranny Madness, DEI, The Border, Inflation, Climate Change, Racism, Waste-Fraud-Abuse of Taxpayer Money)
In reality the vast majority of people aren't nearly as divided as they are in Washington or on this board.
Trump doesn’t care about the common citizen…at all. He’s out for himself and his rich friends. There will come a day when the majority of farmland will be owned by his rich buddies or by Russians or Chinese. Funny how Verizon lost a big internet account to Musk a couple of weeks ago. This is textbook division of classes and we’re all going to be on the wrong side.
