How do any of you parents deal with adolescents going thru excessive hormones stuff?

Caught my 15 yr/old son texting people trying to get them to show him the goods.

Creepy part of it,

one of them was his cousin.

I don't know if that is all that abnormal these days outside of the cousin part. I remember thinking one of my cousins was hot at that age but I wouldn't cross that line. I'd be checking the browsing history on all of his devices.

He's texting girls? You might want to warn him about having naked pictures of minors on his phone, or anywhere.
This. Even if a pic of an underage person gets sent to him unwanted, it can get criminal charges filed for child pornography. And if he sent it to someone else, distribution of child pornography.

Teen boys are going to fap. Remove the parental controls and let him surf porn, rAther than ask for it from friends and family

I don't think he really expects anything back, more of just him being stupid and horny asking for stupid crap pretty much.

My niece showed me, so i busted him on it and right now, he does not have a phone.

I didn't think he was being THAT bad really, but the creepiness factor is what got me.

This is a difficult one. Back in the day you might be lucky to find you father's secret stash of Playboys or some VHS recordings of Emanuelle in Bangkok to fap.

These days with the internet kids are getting hooked on the hard stuff and developing some unreal expectations of what women are into. This can cause some difficulties understanding and relating to women.

Yeah, he is definitely a bit on the "nerdy" side, which i don't know if that helps or hurts his cause.

I just don't think he knows what the hell to do right now. Parents can say and much as you want to on being appropriate and all that, I still don't think it helps all that much in the end.

Pic of what your niece "showed" you?

Many years ago but I recall a neighbor kid, twelve I suppose or close to it, who appeared at the empty field where several of us were playing baseball carrying an armload of his older sisters bras and panties. He was trying to sell them.

Not to cause you any worries, but he grew up to be a very strange person.

I would say those cold winter nights up there on the tundra can get pretty lonely for you...

Not disagreeing but that is where parents need to be able to converse with their children, no matter how uncomfortable it makes both parties. The fact the most of the US treats sex as taboo when the rest of the civilized world is much more open about it always makes me shake my head. We're ok with our kids seeing and dealing with disgusting violence, but sex is not to be talked about.

A 15 yr old asking for nudes isn't weird or creepy, asking his cousin is. I'd be concerned depending on where you live.

Agree with this so much. Opportunity for open dialogue. He's not necessarily weird - he's confused, curious and uneducated like we all were at 15.

Worse than I thought after I got a hold of his Facebook private messages.

Needless to say, his facebook account is gone.

Tomorrow I am getting him a flip phone that can make calls only.

Too bad I have to shut down all his methods of electronic communications, but that is where we are at this point.

Not sure how you teach a kid on what is and what is not appropriate to send to other people. You would figure one would understand that naturally on their own. I definitely talk about what is and what is not appropriate.

Seems to be not registering at all.

Technology is a dangerous thing, if not taught how to use it properly. There have been several issues in our area of teens using technology the wrong way and getting in trouble with it.

Plus you add in this SnapChat app and now kids think its only on the screen for 10seconds but it out there for good.

I applaud the dad for taking away his sons Facebook and phone in order to control it. Some parents would just sit back and do nothing. Good Job Dad for taking control and showing him the right thing to do.

If you are worried about the creep factor, redirect. Get him interested in Anime.

This is awfully personal on your part. Why share this kind of information with the public? Why not just go and talk to your son?

What did you find on Facebook?

Basically him creeping on any female he could find, among other things.

That's the problem with facebook, with texting, you at least have to have their number. Facebook, you know everyone is on there, all you have to do is send a PM.

I know if I was a sexually inhibited teenager with clear boundary issues regarding sex, I'd feel good knowing dad is putting it on the Internet.

If he waits long enough maybe Dad will get him some affirmative responses.
