Cybertruck

Dec 31

Update:
“I was notified today that I could pick up my cybertruck. I spoke to ghe advisor for additional detail and I was informed that the internal left body controller went out and stopped communicating to the battery. They had the part in inventory and they replaced it. They did additional diagnostics and found no other issues (cross fingers). They also replaced the 12v battery and installed the wheel cover. Drove it home and so far so good.”

Still hasn’t happen to either of my trucks. Weird.

No, it's actually real.

A bit overstated based on using the Vegas data point. But there are other crashes that have resulted in fires at a much higher rate than the Pinto.

While a specific "design flaw" has not been identified as was with the Pinto, the rates are currently running much higher. And that is not only with fewer vehicles on the road, it's many many times fewer "road miles".

I never claimed it would test poorly for crash safety... It’s parts flying off in the wind, the sharp edges that cut people, the terrible panel gapping, the accelerator pedal they have to rivet on, the defective windshield wiper, the wheel covers that destroy the tires, wraps causing issues with the stainless body panel, windshields cracking, etc…that I have raised “concern” about.

They made it duct tape colored for a reason.
Seems like as good a place as any to ask this:

I've noticed more and more Cybertrucks appearing here, almost all with custom paint jobs. Is Telsa offering something other than the rolling refrigerator look, or are these people doing that after delivery?

Most/all will be wraps…which many are finding out can damage the underlying surface when they remove them (most wraps not suitable for stainless). Tesla either figured this out or that the margins weren’t good enough, and stopped offering it as an add-on.

Didn't know you couldn't paint stainless.

Either way, the more I see them in the wild, the uglier they get. No paint/wrap is gonna help that in my opinion.
