Is the statute safe from graffiti? It seems to me that if they did what they did to Nile Kinnick's statue and Kinnick stadium and the old capital it could absolutely happen to the Gable statute.

Nah. The Gable statue is an iron golem that comes to life whenever it is threatened. Any attempted vandal will be immediately placed in a hammerlock and his arms will subsequently be ripped from his body.

I had Gable send my son a cameo to help encourage him this year. It made a big impact. Lil' Hounded said he might end someone if he saw them trying to deface Gable's statue. I hope he's exaggerating.
The fact you posted what little hawk said must make you somewhat proud, it shouldn't! Enough with the violence.
