David Carr

Who cares if he is. That’s pushes Levi Haines/ facundo out. Recruiting problem!!! In the end of it all!!

After this loss... what’s the % he’s in a Penn St singlet next year?

I’ll say 95%.
This would never happen but Iowa has a lineup spot available at 157 next year.

Like I said it would never happen, but if it did, wow ISU would be in trouble.

You can’t blow an opportunity that happens afterward. That’s not an opportunity. It’s an unfortunate circumstance. Carr’s match ended after Kalebs.
Ok. If he pulled that match out he would be in a better situation!!! Is that better?

Carr roots run deep in Ames. He will still be there next year unless $ is thrown at him.
As long as Daddy has a job at the CRTC, Carr ain't leaving.

But as creative as PSU coaches seem to be.....you never know if something could open up out East.

It's clear ISU has major issues and for all the talk about how Dresser has elevated recruiting, where's the proof?

Pollard obviously can't afford to shit can the wrestling coaching staff, so I think Dresser is safe.

But man.... even I never envisioned them being this bad.

KJ must be smiling.

Bobby too.

I like David Carr. With that said, if he was in Big Ten, there would be a zero percent chance he has that many consecutive wins. He's a stud but the dice rolled in his favor last year.

Why not get him to become a HAWK if anything? We have a need at 57, not a far move at all, moves us to favorites next year I would guess. I do understand the OP and what F*** st has done this year and in the past. I also get his dad is over at the other place and he probable will not be going anywhere, but IF he did. It better be IOWA!!!

Yeah he does. And if he beat Lewan, all he would have to do is beat the 17 seed to make the semis.
And if flies had machine guns frogs wouldn't f*ck with them. That ship has sailed. Though his chances are slim he needs to shake off the loss and put together a string of wins. Any given day...so he needs to make it happen. If the 17 seed can beat Carr so can the 9 seed. Would hate to see him end his Iowa career in such a disappointing way. I've got to imagine doing so would eat at him for a good long while.

And maybe we could also pull Parker Keckeisen from UNI while we're out there borrowing from our brothers to improve the Hawks outlook for next year and beyond. :)

Carr is probably a good kid and you hate to see talent wasted in such a lousy wrestling program.

When the tourney is over, I'm gonna give another honest assessment of ISU wrestling, but I'm getting real close to feeling sympathy for the dozen or so Clone wrestling fans that remain.

In fact, things have gotten so bad at CF, that many posters are even ridiculing our old buddy, Crabby, for being a fanboy.

Carr going to psu depends on if he wants to wrestle his covid sr year and what are his free style aspirations. Haines can red shirt next year and the the NLRC has great competition around 157 so Carr would get better in free style . But I think the good guys want him wrestling for just next year.

This throwing transfer talk around every time a guy loses a big match is lame. Even in jest.
I agree.

Old man Carr has to be nearly 60. Can't imagine daddy could get another job at that age at any other place.

I think David will spend two more years in Ames and then head back to Ohio to train for the Olympics.

My older daughter goes to ISU and knows him a little, says he's a really good guy.

He's a Junior World Champion and won the NCAA Title as a RS Freshman. You don't do those things because you're lucky.

He got taken to SV by Peyton Robb earlier this year too I believe and won, so yeah, he's not invincible even though he still won, which makes him human, but he's for damn sure capable of a 50 match win streak regardless of the conference he wrestles in, IMO.

Of course it's going to be tougher in the best wrestling conference in the country, but not impossible by any stretch if you're that good. He had a bad match and lost. So did Dan Gable and countless other great wrestler's.

Hard to argue with this after seeing how he handled Hidlay in the ncaa's last year.
