Dean goes down

He was able to get to Dean's legs it seemed at will. Dean was able to funk his way out in the first period. Here is what I like about Nolan: He is just a hustler and is a guy that will not beat himself (so to speak) and doesn't care who you are.

Where are you watching this?

So don't try to toss him and give up 5(brooks)

Also, Palacio over Jojo...I thought Palacio quit wrestling earlier this season

I wouldn't read too much into the win. Dean had been out for a while due to a major illness and still looked like he may have come back too soon. He 100% deserves the loss. If you step on the mat there are no excuses. Still, use this match to predict future results at your own peril!

Palacio pulled a Brett Favre. Lucky for him, Cornell didn't have Aaron Rodgers waiting in the wings.....

I agree with that AZ. Only thing I will add is dont read too much into that Boyd win over Miklus. Willie had a bum ankle and shouldnt have even went out if coach Smith wasnt trying to beat Ok St adn keep the dual win streak rolling. Guessing he figured it was better than having willies backup give up bonus.

That Boyd is one lucky guy.

Deepest weight I can remember. It really is up to 16 deep with really tough guys. We could have a pool just off of this weight alone. These guys have all beat each other back and forth, with Dean being the one safe bet. Hmm?

184 is absolutely stacked

Dean(Champ), Avery(AA), Stauffer(AA), Brown(Finalist), Zillmer(AA), Miklus(AA), McCutcheon(R12), Dudley(AA), Brooks(R12), Dechow(AA), Thomas(AA), Abounader(1-2), Boyd(1-2), Renda(1-2@174), and heck even Courts(AA). 10 returning AA's, 2 R12's, all others former 1-2 at NCAA's in that group.

I still think Sammy Brooks can come out in the upper half of the bracket come March if he remains healthy.

Put it this way Azchief,

I will give you 5-1 odds that Boyd places over dean at NCAA's and 10-1 odds that Boyd beats Dean if they wrestle at NCAA's. $200.00 minimum bet!

Again, ignore the truth at your own peril. I never said Boyd didn't deserve the win, but to gauge future results off of that match would be unwise.

Boyd is my dark horse for a reason but he keeps beating people and folks keep on saying not to read anything into it. He gave Burak all he could handle wrestling up. At some point the kid should be getting some respect.

I picked OkState to win it all driving all the PSU guys nutz on the mat. I know Boyd had potential. I didn't mean to knock him and I would like to see him AA. It was just pretty obvious that that wasn't a ready to go Dean. I don't know enough about the Miklus situation to say anything.

Well...Dean seemed pretty good in the first period and decent enough in the third. Still had the strength to pull off the gator roll at the end.

Boyd get no respect, he beat #4 and moves up from 17 to 16. Beat #1 Dean (who did look good in first and third) will probably moves to 15. lol

Dean had dead legs early. When you see knees lock that many times, the guy is off. If you think that was normal Dean, we can agree to disagree. If you want to think Brooks should expect that version if he wrestles him I won't try to stop you. Being from Michigan, having watched a majority of his matches, it's my opinion that Dean was still feeling the affects of his layoff.

Thanks a lot haha...your bet offer made BWI...posted by what appears to be my very own stalker.

Yea, Dean is still Dean but I do think that tall skinny guy can go with anybody.

I think the NCAA should do random draws at 184 this year, similar to international tournaments. The resulting bracket would be just as crazy as trying to seed out to 12 or 16 positions.

I still think Dean is the favorite but good luck seeding it. Sammy is going to have to win out...hope we get Mizzou and a rematch with Dudley. A murderous bracket.

I guess the injury excuse only works when its an Iowa or PSU guy. Please feel free to draft Boyd early and often in your NCAA fantasy pools. ;)

I know for a fact Willie Miklus hadn't hardly practiced prior, and has missed every match since his match with Boyd. Perhaps Boyd would have beat a completely healthy Miklus and a completely healthy Dean. We don't know, but like Ihawkd I probably wouldn't draft him in the top 8 at 184.

All that said if you are healthy enough to compete you are healthy enough to compete. Boyd has really helped his seeding cause (if that matters in this weight).

Even if that is true (I think part of it is) we are only about a month out from ncaas. There is a very good possibilty that yesterday is the version of Gabe Dean we will be seeing in the ncaas.
Msu I have no interest in betting on Boyd, but if you give me those odds I will gamble on Brooks?

slicone,

No Chance! Lol, I wouldn't give you those odds for Brooks if I knew with absolute certainty that Dean was 100%. Brooks matches up very well with Dean. Remember Dean had a very off week last year as well. Albeit, it was much earlier in the season. Dean has a very tough conference to get through prior to NCAA's. If he gets through that looking good, it would be safe to assume he is back to form.
