Happy that you mentioned coach Meyer. In 1968, as a player on the frosh-soph basketball team at our H.S. our coach took us to watch a DePaul game live on the campus. One of our seniors had a brother who played for DePaul.

I still remember seeing that game on TV and it was a great environment, one if the best I have seen for an NIT game. My recollection was that Kingsbury hit some very long shots.

Coach Meyer had some very good teams back in the late 70s to the early 80s. Terry Cummings and Mark Aquirre were standout players. Iowa finished second in the recruiting wars for both of them.

Ditto. Favorite part was when DePaul needed to foul at the end of the game and they fouled kingsbury at half court. He shot the ball at the time of the foul and was trying to convince the ref to give him 3 shots.
