DePaul at Iowa for the Gavitt Games

What kind of team has Ray Meyer assembled for next year?
Happy that you mentioned coach Meyer. In 1968, as a player on the frosh-soph basketball team at our H.S. our coach took us to watch a DePaul game live on the campus. One of our seniors had a brother who played for DePaul.

Move it to The Mark of the Quad Cities.

I still remember seeing that game on TV and it was a great environment, one if the best I have seen for an NIT game. My recollection was that Kingsbury hit some very long shots.

Iowa and DePaul met in the first round of the National Invitation Tournament before a frenzied crowd of 10,678 and a national television audience on ESPN. Jess Settles and Chris Kingsbury helped Iowa claim a 96-87 victory in what DePaul coach Joey Meyer called "a very hostile environment."
