DeSantis

He's a moron. Jack Smith served Donald Trump on a platter for Ron today, and he only offered up some weak statements about needing better leadership or something. Then he talked about the weaponization of the DoJ. You are in second place, Ron, and the guy ahead of you has been indicted twice with a third and fourth indictment on the horizon. He's too much of a pussy to be president. Today could have been his big day. An event in South Carolina, and an interview with Jake Tapper, but, he blew Trump instead.
At this point, his only shot is for Trump to not be allowed to be the nominee. I think he believes that if this happens, the Trump followers will come on board and he will get the nomination. He is not going to say or do anything to piss off Trump's base.

This is what "whitewashing" history looks like
DeSantis’ new Education Chief

Only "traditional crimes" should be prosecuted? What a maroon.

He is never going to beat Trump if he doesn't stop holding Trump's wang. And a huge majority just want Trump so the "other options" are trying to thread a very small needle between "I'm different, but I'm just like him". Too many R voters just want Trump. And RD is just unelectable at the national level. He is just wasting other people's money.

Funny, I had to go a look that up again. Really, this guy? Those schools?

Edit - And a JD on top of that? Not a poly science degree, but Law?
Actually, a college counselor told me that the way that certain law schools get highly ranked is what law firms they work for, same true for B schools. If a CEO says his best employees came from XYZ school, that goes up in rankings, but that the same education is often obtained at other schools in the country.

My husband went to Fordham for law school. He was a much better attorney than an associate that had gone to Yale. Meanwhile, we had an acquaintance that went to Duke law, graduated with honors, worked for Scadden Arps in NYC, defending the mob, then quit to become a State's Attorney, despite people telling him he got it backwards, and might be found at the bottom of the Hudson river.

One of the best attorneys I ever met went to Emory and UVA. He worked for another white shoe firm in NY. He was passed over for partner because he didn't have the right "look".

He seems to be hedging - a clear sign that the blowback against the FL “slavery was a skill development program” public education agenda.

He has to pivot and repudiate this, right? Yeah, to do so will anger the white nationalists but failure to do so is going to big dog him the rest of his campaign.

His pivot is trying to go back to his handling of Covid. It's funny how he states he doesn't want the campaign to be about 2020 when talking about Trump but is running in reverse to talk about Covid. I believe his BS will be called out on the national stage.

Later in life when they were still slaves?
Yep

But now they got skillz, so they can push their "slave resumes" out to other plantations to maybe get a better "slave gig".

Or, they can double their "slave pay" with new skills - you know..... $0 x 2 = TWICE the rate they used to get.

To be fair, they were also given free housing so didn't really need much "slave pay" to begin with...

It is pretty sad tho. The War of Northern Aggression was always beyond humorous (dark humor) to me. And now we see the newest generation of white washers trying to thread a needle that is impossible. But there are some people that will believe anything. It's just a shame this effort is coming from the FLDOE "allegedly" vs some less official idiots.

The Lost Cause is alive in Florida. Amazing and depressing at the same time.

He's going to pander to his anti-vax crowd, now.

Because that's the way the wind is blowing.

And it'll balloon to all childhood vaccines, which will result in hundreds, if not thousands of people becoming sick and dealing with the sequelae from those preventable diseases.

And, in case anyone here isn't informed on "measles" - it erases your immune system memory. You become susceptible to ANY other thing you were exposed to and used to be immune to. That's what causes MOST of measles deaths.

To your point, he's pandering to the dumbest, and most insane, among us
