We’re one day into the first week after Fran was fired and WV and Iowa finished their seasons. Give it another day or two.
Not really. Totally different resources if it is Iowa vs Indiana. It won't matter who Iowa hires if the money is not there.
If Beth can't get either DD or BM, there's absolutely zero reason to pay any attention to Iowa basketball any longer. It will be obvious at that point the university is not committed to fielding a competitive team and firing Fran, and all the negative publicity that came with it, will be for nothing.

I disagree! There are other coaches that can turn this thing around. Yes it makes sense to hire DD or BM but what if she goes the route of getting a guy like Jans or someone that is off the radar but a great coach. Let's just be happy that FM is no longer here and there is an opportunity to get someone that can turn this program into a player come this time of the year...
If we end up with Jans, the Bradley coach, or any of the others rumored, we should have kept Fran. None of them will get us to where we want to be. If we can't get DD or BM that means the university isn't willing to put the resources needed into the program.

Fran was done in a couple years anyway. We weren't going to be better with him at the helm--at least now we'd know not to invest anything personally into the program because the University obviously won't. Hoping for one of the two former Drake coaches.
Keep Fran for what.... I know that there are hungry coaches out there at smaller schools than Iowa that can get this thing going. Fran was checked out and should've been replaced years ago.
I agree with that, but our results won't be better with those other candidates listed.

The problem is it just isn’t the universities resources anymore it’s all of our resources with NIL.
Our athletic revenue from the current media deal is going to dwarf what WVU brings in. Not saying that has any direct connection to NIL, wink wink, but we're going to have a lot more $$$ to throw at MBB than they will.
Maybe we can hire Fran back, assuming he is still available.
I agree but we have to get out of the mindset of just waiting for the university to make it happen. We all can fund and help buy players whenever we want with NIL.

The entire team except one either graduated or transferred. 4 of the 5 starters for Drake this year were D-II from NW Mo St and the other was transfer from WY.
