Do you think he returns for a 4th year? No.
He's a better college player than Hyde was. But that doesn't mean much.
I do think he is a pro level corner. One of the few Iowa DBs I can remember being confident in in a non-zone scheme.
Like heat_dawg said, I think he has shown all he can shown. But he has more hype now than he did at the start of the season. If puts in the same level of play next year that he did this year with the added eyes, he will jump a couple rounds IMO.Do you think he returns for a 4th year?

Des lost a quarter of the Nebraska game due to ?.......Probably his attitude that could hurt his play as well as his teammates.......When he did get in, he seemed to be going through the motions and not psychologically or physically in the game. Iowa's next two/three games that he plays are important to his NFL potential career in term of contract. I hope he stays another year- his decision.....I hope I am wrong about his attitude!
Second round, I think his play has been better than Hydes was, but he's not quite the specimen Hyde is.Is he a First round choice in this Spring NFL draft? How does he compare to Micah Hyde?
I didn't see that at all. In fact, he made up for the muff with an excellent return. I don't see any slack in Des at all. He has said he promised his mother he won't leave Iowa without his degree. However, maybe he can finish that up this summer. Perhaps they realize the money is there and tell him to do what is best for him.
That being said he is probably at his ceiling. I've read his assets are instincts, technique and ball skills. The 2 knocks on him are size and straight away speed. Those won't improve with another year of college. Also, I doubt size is what keeps him from going high. I will say I don't see him in the 1st round but I wouldn't rule it out.
I hope he stays for selfish reasons but him leaving would probably be in his best interest for long term NFL money and it's a good thing when players leave your program early for the NFL.

As an Iowa fan, I selfishly hope he stays.
That being said, if he stays just to get his degree turning down millions..he's an absolute idiot.
If you're just a normal guy going to college for business and in your junior year somebody offers you 10 million to come work for him...what are you gonna do? lol
I know a thousand mouth breathing idiots who have college degrees. A degree is EASY to buy for a rich person. If he turns down millions for that he is a stupid, stupid person.
Let's just hope that he wants to experience another year of Hawkeye football.[/QUOTE]
You mean lets hope he is an idiot?
Unless I missed it, I'm surprised I haven't seen anything here about King winning the Jack Tatum award for the top DB in college football. Great honor for him.
