Did Kelly and Nick get 9th place?

Well, good. At least we're sending all 10 to nationals. Seems like a long time since that has occurred.
It is not guaranteed they qualify. They placed 9th which makes them eligible for an At Large bid(wild card). Only 8 AQ's per weight, but placing one place below the AQ threshold makes them eligible. Still, I would say it is more than likely they both get bids.
I don't think it makes much difference whether they go or not. They collectively only scored 1 point total at Big Tens. That kind of "firepower" won't make any difference.
Had that point not been scored we would have finished 2nd. That point could be just as big at the NCAAs as it was in this tourney. It is nice to at least have the potential to score points at those weights than what a team like the Gophs are facing with their likely 7 qualifiers.
If they wrestle the way they did in their last matches in order to finish 9th, then yes they will make a contribution at nationals.

I'll be happy if they go to Nationals and even happier if they can actually score anything. I just don't expect it and it is extremely unlikely that 1 or 2 points will determine the champion there. Sure they looked OK going against MSU, Maryland, and Indianna type guys in their last match or 2. I doubt they see that weak of competition at Nationals.
Well for sure be better to have the chance then stay home.
Most likely get a bad draw for first round but no conference is tougher than big ten so they should be able to pick up something in wrestle backs..Every point is going to be important because of the balance.
Most likely we have no champions so need to place for sure 8 AA and place above our seeds.
