Did you “honestly” expect this epic beatdown?

On paper, I thought we looked better and should cover. I did not expect to cover like that though. Damn

No way in hell. And actually look pretty good doing it! I figured we'd get squashed flat. Again.

I will say hell no… not any way shape or form but the Gods over Iowa said so I am damn ok with that… well rounded 4 quarter game and everyone looked sound and really good - hats off to 1 “X” he laid the wood when needed … finally a good game… let’s keep the good times rolling as Iowa can definitely make some noise the rest of the year
X can’t tackle on an average play. He had some embarrassing series today.

It really wasn’t a beat-down if you watched the game. Iowa was able to take advantage of some great field position and Washington mistakes. It was a nice Hawkeye win however!

Not sure you understand how Vegas and betting works, if this is your reply.
I do indeed.

“Vegas knows” is a pet peeve of mine. People just seem to love to say it, even when it doesn’t seem to apply. Like when you used it earlier.

The line didn’t move much, so they set it about right to get even betting. The line moved what, one point? Vegas did what Vegas does, but this line was in line with what bettors felt was a good line.

I guess I don’t understand why this was example “Vegas know.” Yes, Vegas knew, and so did everybody else.

That line was set to get people to bet Washington. My point is they had a pretty good idea that Iowa was going to win this game. The average better would look at that line and see a team who just beat Michigan playing a team who got waxed the week before...getting points.

I think today's win reinforces my expectation of winning out, at least the regular season. 10-2!!!
I was expecting something about a bad as the Ohio State beatdown, but maybe I am too muchof a pessimist (will have to ask my doctor next time)

good game all around. that tailback Washington has is STUD. probably as good (maybe better) than our Kaleb.

Nope, thought it would be close and we would struggle. Happy to be wrong, happy the team played 4 full quarters.

That isn’t turning out like we all thought… granted… I thought they were unbeatable and I don’t think Oregon is that great either as they will probably drop a game or 2 MAYBE this year ….
There are no “great” college teams this year. 4 or 5 contenders but no one team stands out…..Texas, tOSU, Oregon, Georgia… and ? Someone is gonna catch fire but there’s no “great” one this year.

Washington’s first two possessions were a total of 28 plays, 148 yards, and nearly an entire quarter of game time in possession and they came away with 7 total points after missing a chip shot FG. Their next possession, QB fumbles it and he falls apart. They can’t do anything, start playing from behind, forcing it, turning it over on downs and things snowballed on them.
Washington did NOT "miss a chip shot field goal". It was blocked by YA Black, so another solid play by Iowa's D/ST. They went for it fourth and short 3 times and we stopped them all three times, which is rare for any team, so again as much good play by Iowa as it was Poor play by Washington.

I had decided I was going to watch until Cade's second turnover. I was pleased I got to watch the whole game.

I'm starting to think that the O really needed some game reps to get their timing down and I'm optimistic about the up coming games. The D is not as stout as last year but still pretty pretty good.

Nope, not at all. I feel like we just gave the Huskies a litmus test on the what the upper echelon of the B1G is and they failed. Pretty sure they are now more aware of the transition ala Nebraska when they first joined. It's a grind and looks differently/easier when you're outside of it. The real shocker they'll have is when it gets colder. No longer is it only B1G teams having to go to their stomping grounds to play seemingly every time. We gave them a reality check and it'll be helpful for them long term.
I mean cmon. We played great yesterday but one has nothing to do with the other. They basically lost their entire team from last year plus their coaching staff. Best effort from us for 4 quarters in many years, no matter the opponent. It’s looking like Oregon right now is going to win the league in their first year in. I’m enjoying the Hell out of these cross country games, both USC and Penn St plus Oregon and Ohio St were incredible games. And the Hawks were physically dominant yesterday. Loved it.

Are you kidding! 40 pts that's surreal for this program. Thought would get a nice win, 21-17, type of semi-borefeast since Huskies coming all the way back east and had huge win the week before and frankly, they are not very good. But they can complete passes and we still saw Hawks cannot cover anyone. Now on to Sparty what a schedule. Enjoy while you can.

Screw you Clone boy.

What was very obvious is the Hawks were way more physical and it wore out Washington. Dinardo mentioned that in training camp tour that he didn't feel like Washington would be physical enough against the Big Ten's most physical teams.

Full season in this conference is difficult,.. Not every Big Ten team is Ohio State, but every Big Ten team is built to inflict pain...

That last QB Washington had in is their QB of the future. He is tiny for a QB and he is gonna get killed in this league.
