Didn’t watch the game tonight but damn, looks like the Hawks pasted them!

I've only been able to watch off & on, so I don't know if Iowa played some real lock down defense and shut IU down, or IU just sucked to high heaven tonight.

Either way, been a pretty damn good most of 3 halves (plus OT), since the first half on Tuesday night - especially for Payton Sandfort.

They just said Iowa forced 16 turnovers and scored 24 points off those turnovers.

I actually thought this team would struggle without Traore contributing substantially, but he only got seven minutes of largely unproductive floor time last night. Right now it seems as though we will need to depend on our five starters to determine further outcomes.

I figured that it was my patriotic duty to change the channel. It was the only way Iowa would win.

Don't worry, I did the same with Nebraska when we gave up the huge run and Freeman passed off of Pryce's head.

I tuned back in when we were up 4 with a minute to go.
- dude hits the fade 3.
- we made 2 fts after using all our timeouts.
- buzzer beater.

I stopped watching, started watching again when we were up 8. I figured it had to be me and if Nebraska cut it to single digits then I would officially stop watching for the sake of the team.

It's nuts to think about but this team could easily be 4-1 or 1-4 in the Big Ten.

Starters and Pryce with a little bit of Dembele.

Traore is probably gone.

Traore body language didn't look great, but he's been hurt and not played very well in his limited minutes. It would be shocking
development if he was gone. He is still a valuable piece for matchup flexibility. Fran does seem to put some guys into a dog house, especially if they don't fit in on offense.

Dimbele seems to be improving so that he can take minutes at PF and backup center. He's not much of a leaper, but he is reasonably quick and really solidly built.

"Ifs, buts, candy & nuts" and all that ......

but the Hawks arguably should be 4-1/15-1 or 14-2 right now.

Except for that disgusting anomaly at Wisconsin, every game the Hawks have lost should have been a win instead. They c/should have beat Utah St, Iowa St, and @ Michigan. Defense and rebounding (& FT shooting) were key factors in those 3 games.

I noticed that too. He brings a unique dimension but seems a little out of sync on offense. Not shocking given his recent absence. We have to have more bench options that Dembele and Pryce to have any chance to make post season noise.

Cooper was that player, but won’t be this year I’m afraid. I was hoping Chris Tadjo would start having things click and maybe it still could happen but until we see it it’s just a hope

Maybe some of both, but I think mainly the latter. When the Hawks got up by 10-12 points it looked like Indiana was just mailing it in. No hustle, threw up brick after brick. Indiana had 15 turnovers, and most of them happened when the game was still in doubt. They had won 5 in a row, but didn't look good last night at all.

I now just assume anyone who isn't getting pt will transfer.

I was at the game and watched him almost exclusively when he was in. Traore is lost on offense right now and isn't moving without the ball like he needs to be.

That was a weird game. 18-0 run by Iowa, 16-0 run by IU, 16-0 run by Iowa. Also, Fran didn't really sub out much in the 2nd half. The 16-0 run was against Iowa subs in the first half.

Did Dix tweak something? Seems like PrSand was in quite a bit in the 2nd half.
