Dakich just seems to be an attention whore and rambles on a lot more than other color commentators. It can be tolerable if he wants to praise your team and/or players like all the praise he heaped on Luka today. It can be annoying as hell when you got a situation like Woodbury.

Walton sounds like he's drunk, high, or both most games he calls. I find his schtick as annoying as Dukie-V.

It is very possible for someone with a solid background as a player coach to not be good at color commentary. Al McGuire won a national championship and he was horrible as a color guy.

That being said, Dakich does have some good nuggets. He just needs to know that sometimes "less is more".

Hansbrough was not a polished offensive player and half of his baskets were dunks, he lived off garbage baskets.

Anyone that doesn't like Dakich must have some unresolved issues over his Woody/eyepoke comments, he's great during games. One of the best analysts going.

For insight about the game, I think it’s him and Bilas. THey’re both fantastic, but Dakich is comfortable being brutally honest. I’m always happy to get a Dakich game. Even when I disagree or don’t like what he’s saying, I know it’s coming from his gut honesty. I can respect that.

I don't think DD is even in the same ballpark as Bilas in their abilities to expound on the relevant points of what's happening in a game.

Dachitch is alway jabbering on about weird stuff like talking to "tough guys."

Thats not a real thing, its a Dachitch in the spotlight moment.

I'm as big of Adam Woodbury fan as there is but I thought his comments were not out of line a few years back in regards to the eye poke. Aren't Gus Johnson, Eddie and Bobby Hansen the only ones that most hawkeye fans will unanimously agree they enjoy? Most will complain about everyone including Dolph who is as big of a hawkeye fan as all of us here.

Bennitti (sp) had a rough day IMO. Dakich was spot on for the majority of the game. One thing he pointed out is if you like college bball, watch BIG ball. Never a dull moment.

Dakich does know his stuff and yes is brutally honest why he rubs fan bases the wrong way. Can praise a team most of the game but fans still upset about a few critiques during game and those are the comments that’s stick. I do understand how sometimes can be a bit annoying to listen too but he does know his stuff. As for Bilas I think he’s the best in the business when it comes to college hoops.

I like Dakich best but like all of he gets carried away on some things like Woodbury.
My problem with Walton is all he is doing is a schtick. Mostly nonsensical garbage that has nothing to do with the game.

Again, I don't have as much of problem with what he says, as his compulsion to talk constantly. The value of a commentator is compromised when he should have nothing to say. Let the game or play speak for itself. Not non-stop chatter. JFC.

The viewer is watching the game and does not need to be told what he just saw every moment, and analysis is not necessary for every layup and set shot.
