Do you guys go to other team's boards and post?

Generally post only when I'll be visiting and need info

But I do peruse for the entertainment factor. I like a good meltdown when it's not the Hawks. The Nebraska board two Saturdays ago was interesting to say the least.

I personally never have and don't see how it's worth the time, but this board seems chock full of users from other sites. What gives?

Nope, I never do. And probably because it's free to post here is why other fans do.

You will see a plethora of Nebraska fans here come January (they will tell you all about their many 4-star players with 5.9/6.0 ratings) and again in April (or whenever their spring game is and they tell you how great so and so will be). Of course they will be conspicuously absent for most of the actual season.

Other fan bases just show up game week or randomly. Usually how it works.

I have gone and read on other teams boards, Nebraska board is only one I've posted on and it was just a couple times over the years.

Not really. Dipped a couple times in the past, just hoping to glean insight for upcoming opponents, espcially OOC. I've discovered the national Rivals SoundOff board can be . . . interesting.

Never have - spend enough time here. add that to the fact I couldn't care less what's discussed on the boards of nebraska, psu, osu, mich, isu,minn.........

Yep. An interesting cast of characters over there, mostly full of The Good Ol' Boys types. It is interesting to see the big boy posters (your Alabama, USC, OSU, OU, FSU, UF fans etc) rally around Nebraska, protecting their own so to speak.

I've asked questions when I'm going to a road game, but that's about it. I got sucked into some good natured banter with jNW fans prior to heading to evanston for a game when I was just trying to get tailgating/parking info.

Sometimes I think a lot of the pressure to fire the staff etc when a season isn't going well is fueled by people who like to troll other sites or want better ammo to defend against the trolls who come here. I read a lot of the troll crap if I'm bored...it's amazing and comical how fans can spin things to make their program the better one...or absolutely bury their head in the sand to ignore glaring issues.

Generally it's not worth it. I would only post now to say something nice about a team or town (more than just good game and the like), or ask for advice if traveling.

Iowa's board is pretty unique - you can register - post - and probably will never get booted off no matter what you say. I have found that the majority of boards it doesn't seem like you can even read them unless you sign up for VIP. And then theres boards that are just basically a cheer leader for the team - they simply black list you if you are from the outside and simply ask a question that someone might deem has a hidden meaning.

As has been said above - I think this is what makes Iowa's boards a target for posters from other teams to come in a run there mouth.

While a Cyclone grad myself, I visit both that board and here as I have kids at both universities. My son is at ISU and my daughter at Iowa, so keep connected to both. I try not to flame at all here.

I do on occasion, but I try and be respectful and add to the conversation, not try and get a rise out of there fan base. Northwestern's and Indiana's forums are pretty respectful, Nebraska's is if your there to glorify the big red ego. LOL If not, your instantly banned. I am currently banned :) Other then that, I have not posted that I can remember on any other board, cept Pitt after the game in 2015, and they were very respectful.

I think I have done it a couple of times like StormHawk. When I was visiting an area of the country I have never been, I have asked for some tips. That's it. Even that was years ago.

I have only gone over to be complementary, usually for basketball. I have never gone to defend Iowa's program, I don't understand why people feel they have to others boards to do that. A- who cares what they are saying. B- you won't change anyone's mind.

I read and post on this board because I'm blown away by the hypocrisy from week to week. If Iowa drops its next game to Sparty this weekend the tenor on the board will go from, great game Hawks, to Iowa sucks, a pattern seen quite often. Probably the most predictable board I read.

Maybe we'll go crazy and fire our AD.

If Iowa loses to MSU, they do suck.

Though I read other teams boards before and after the game...I rarely post on them. If I do then I'm very respectful and don't start any sh**. I checked out the Penn St. board yesterday and they still have some active Iowa threads, one slamming how hateful and backward we Iowa fans are but mainly how disrespectful we were to their fans with all the pedo comments.

I did defend Iowa that though we have our share of morons...you can't judge entire fan bases on a minority of idiots. Many agreed and those at the game or knew someone that went to the game said 95% of the Iowa fans were "fine" and even offered food and beer during tailgating. The biggest thing they hate is being reminded of the Sandusky scandal and opposing (Iowa) fans throwing it in their faces. Putting myself in their shoes...it would probably bother me too if it had happened at Iowa.

So, support a different school.

Yeah, I was checking out Indiana's board since Penn State after there week of trolling here and they are trolling over there. I pointed it out to Indy fans, which pissed off the PSU people, but hey, if your trolling and trying to act innocent about it, you should get called on it. LOL You know, the one that really pissed me off was the guy here that was apologising for the beat down the hawks were going to receive. Arrogance, PSU fans are like Husker fans, they think they are blueblood royalty.

No I do not. However, I do like to give posters who come here and act like idiots a hard time once in awhile. Yes I know we have our own idiots as well.
