Do you think JoBo’s redshirt year makes Wieskamp come back for another season?

Talking to JBO, he opened up about the hip injury and surgery being part of his elaborate master plan to get Joe W to return for a third year. Now that this has been exposed by the OP I expect JBO to abandon this strategy and play this season.

I see it if JBo does not play this year (which I don't expect him to) then Joe W will be the go to guy and if he can put up 17 ppg or more I figure he'll be gone after this year.

I don't really think a PPG number determines whether or not Wieskamp goes pro. NBA doesn't really pay attention to college numbers on whether or not they think a guy is worthy of being drafted. Kevin Huerter averaged less than 15 points a game as a sophomore at Maryland. What got him drafted was being 6-7, being a great shooter with at least enough athleticism to defend acceptably in the NBA.

I have no idea if Wieskamp is a viable first-round pick after next year. Selfishly I would like to see Wieskamp play at Iowa at least 3 years, but given his skill set don't know if that's realistic.

I don't think Weiskamp is in a big hurry to leave Iowa. He has the potential certainly to leave early, but it would not surprise me at all to see him play 3-4 seasons here. JBo's status isn't a factor in that decision IMO.

Idk but jobo should play a couple games Jack 10 threes a game and then shut it down and get a medical hardship. Then come back the following and break the big ten 3 pt record.

Or he comes back healthy after a year and breaks both Iowa's single season 3pt mark of 117 (Chris Kingsbury), which would put him past Jon Diebler (OSU) as the most 3 ptrs in BigTen history (374) as well (Jordan trails by 110)

I honestly thought he trailed by like 130ish, 110 is probably doable.

It’s a lock Joe is gone after this year. Enjoy watching him Hawkeye fans because this will be his last year.

I always figured with a bunch of guys leaving early for the NBA we would have at least one B1G championship to show for it.

Interested in your inside info that says Joe is for sure leaving after next season. Does he get drafted? Does he transfer? Europe?

We will see. He will go pro because he will think he’s ready to be a pro. Has zero to do with Fran.

I love JW but to me he has a long ways to go before playing in the nba. Maybe I'm just hoping he stays all 4 years.
