Hope people show up tomorrow

Again, I understand your disdain. My point is that not showing up to support the program may have long term implications. I also don't think it's fair to the guys putting everything they have into the program to represent us to say "we don't like your coach and think you are soft so we won't support you." That's all I'm saying.

I'll be there tonight.

Have fun. But Fran put the players in this position. I don't blame the players, I blame the boss

Then shut up about it being unwatchable. You'll watch if we play well and especially if we win. Even if it is on tape

You like watching no defense, terrible terrible rebounding and free throw shooting? Hey, if that is what you like.....good for you.

And as an Iowa Alumn I'll always want what is best for the athletic programs. I think my comments about the current state of Mens BBall are in line with that philosophy.

Unfortunately not even close. Check the secondary markets.

Where would rather play if you're a top player: A place where you play in front of fans or nobody?
You are expecting too much from the fans. The product is stale. Zero defense every year and no post-season expectations. At least with football fans have the tailgating experience. You can make a day of it. That isn't true for bball. It's tough to commit to that drive for many considering the product.

I want to see more fight in their games. They've demonstrated it, at times, but it comes far too infrequently. If they're going to lose, go down swinging. When a shot goes up, stop watching the ball, find the nearest guy and stick your ass in his crotch and an elbow in his chest. Close out on a shooter like you mean it. Fight over the top of screens, even if it means you knock some guy on his ass. They need to change the narrative and how they're perceived, particularly by their fans. Not dirty, but tough. Stop being so nice. They ratchet up the intensity from the jump, and maintain that level for the whole game, the fans will appreciate it. And they'll win more. And the fans will start to come back.

For the “It’s too far to drive” crowd, i encourage you to buy tickets and donate them to the Boys and Girls Club or a similar organization. There are lots of kids who would love to go to an Iowa basketball game but don’t ordinarily have the opportunity to do so.

They fired Tom Davis, who was the all time winning coach at the time

May want to fact check this. Dr Tom wasn’t “fired”. His contract wasn’t renewed, which is exactly what Ronman suggested could happen to Fran. If that is the case with Fran, you’d hope Iowa would handle this one completely different from how they handled Dr Tom’s.

Nebraska has never won an NCAA tourney game...ever.
They sell out most men's home games.
Nebraska has a more loyal fan base.
Neb.Football, I get..but Nebby BB?
This is what I don't understand. What is so different about Nebraska and Iowa hoops fans? Two Midwestern states right next door to each other, yet apparently different people.

I've heard every excuse there is. The tip off times change. I don't like weeknight games. Weekend game interfere with kids sports.
Nothing but pissing and moaning. If you have the chance go because nothing beats the value of live sports, and you rarely walk out of CHA feeling like the team didn't put on a good show.
Well I heard there is a slight chance of snow and it's cold outside. So no, I won't be attending.

I think that's what happened to Brian, but a lot of people said he was fired. Basically it's giving someone the "it's not you, it's me" line when you're breaking up with them.
