Documentary from last night.

If you have a subscription to btn or btn+, maybe?? you can watch it online in their video library. Just a thought. Not seeing it again on btn live schedule in near future.

Well worth the watch. Even for casual fans. I could have had a little more. Maybe a 2 hour doc instead of a one hour, but I’ll always take more wrestling over less.

DeSanto is and always be will an interesting figure.
They could have made it 30 minutes if they had cut out the gratuitous shots of pools of sweat. Mrs 26 was gagging every time they cut to a pool of sweat.

Joking aside...I would have loved to have had more discussion of the onslaught of injuries we had. Obviously they talked about Lee and Kem but it was Lee, Drake, Jaydin, Murin, Bull, Kem, Abe and Tony, culminating with most of the team sporting some sort of wrap or brace at NCAA. Then you had the powder keg of DeSanto and a team full of guys who were a shell of themselves in their 6th/7th years.

Last year was supposed to be a coronation of the Hawks with the guys that led us back to glory, instead we limped home with 70ish points and watched the PSU infomercial once again.

That was a heart-ripping doc. Will not watch again.

I cannot find that it will be on TV again, not on YouTube, and don’t see it on my Big10+ app either. Man that sucks.

I recorded B1G Semifinals. The doc is part of that telecast. So go to B1G10+ and record the semis. It comes on after it.

I recorded the semis on YouTube tv but it's not part of that. I didn't see it on the replays of the semis on Big10+ either.

I recorded the B1G Network semifinal. It's on there.

So did I, but it's not on mine.
Not on mine either…. Shouldn’t be so hard to rewatch this.

I recorded the B1G Network semi telecast using Fubo. My recording captured 5 hours - the semis and 3 hours after. So maybe I got the documentary because my streaming service apparently doesn't know how to shut off a recording. In fact, my recording of the B1G network finals is 5 hours too.

I think it was on before and after and then I guess never again.

They have quite a bit of behind the scenes footage of Desanto. I said this in another thread, but I have more respect for the Brands Bros on how they handled him.
Definitely, but credit to Desanto too. I seem to recall last year an article or interview revealing he was regularly seeing a sports psychologist and was taking it quite seriously. So he was putting in the work too which is admirable

Haven't seen it but it looks terrific. Here's the backstory:

I thought it was awesome. Had me a bit emotional seeing Desanto after his loss. Really do get emotionally attached to these guys throughout their time at Iowa and sucks seeing them not reach their goals.

I can't get that to work. It's funny how hard it is to watch this thing.
It was produced by the Daily Iowan Documentary Workshop. It's their first production. Reminds me of -

My favorite scene was the team bus leaving an empty Hilton parking lot after trashing the clones and honking the horn continously. If they could have found an actual ISU fan, I got the feeling the bus would have drove over next to them just to blow the horn in their face.

Yep. Just search "Chasing Greatness" on BTN+. Must have recently been added to library, because I searched last night and couldn't find it.
Must have been added in the last hour. I already did this and got nothing.

Regardless, awesome.

It's on Fubo if you have it. Seven day free trial if you can't wait. Lol

It definitely is on BTN+ now too.
Searched and pulled right up.

Just watched. It's worth the 53 minutes.

Hoping only the best for DeSanto. Not a doctor, but a goddaughter was diagnosed with OCD. He sort of reminds me of her.

Kemerer leaving for Spartan RTC seems a bit more of a loss for HWC than I may have previously realized.

Marinelli struck me as he's most likely to seriously pursue coaching opportunities soon over continued senior world competition.

Agree with others that some of the B-roll sweat and rub downs could've been edited out.

I'm taking from the title that love of the pursuit, and gratitude for the opportunity despite adversity, is more important than whether or not one reaches their goal.

I wonder how many here will not like it, because it could be seen as a subliminal promotion of Penn State.

That was a great documentary . . . didn't mind the sweat at all, lol. It's what they go through.

Wow, watching Kemerer suffer was potent. What a truly tough man.

I hope every potential recruit gets to see this.

I don't know if Tom & Terry are THE smartest coaches, but I can't imagine better wisdom. And, certainly, no coaching staff is more passionate or more concerned for their wrestlers.

Just finished it. Thought it was great, but tough to watch at times for obvious reasons.

I guess I canceled my BTN+ too early. Might have to pony up ten bucks to see this. I just paid for 4 months and only watched 2 or 3 shows. Ugh.

Typically you won’t lose your BTN+ access until the end of the month (if you signed up 3/2 and then didn’t renew you still have access until 4/2 for example).

I have to admit, Marinelli telling his little story about DeSanto wearing the red shirt every practice had me rolling.
Alex: "Hey, I was wondering, why do you wear that red shirt?"

DeSanto: "I will break your arm!"

Just about the exact response someone should expect. lol....
