Does Iowa hire expert scouts to scout Iowa?

Part of being a coach is developing plays that work. Since opposing teams appear to know what Iowa is going to do on both on offense and defense, why does Kirk Ferenz do the same old things. Why can teams like Wisconsin be so good on defense year after year with similar talent, and Indiana for years has moved the ball against everybody on offense. I've seen our defense stand up along the line of scrimmage and it usually works, but then abandon it even if it works. Why didn't Beatherd roll out to the right instead of being hammered standing exposed to the rush of the Northwestern right defensive end. Some criticize the offensive line, but I don't because they are victims of a coaching staff that does not have a clue. On the Big Ten Network, they said Iowa sent out only two wide receivers on most plays. Some schools like Texas and Ohio State get five stars, yet Ohio State is
much better than Texas. Is Iowa's coaching staff doing a poor job of evaluating 3 star talent we can attract. The 1st halve of the last two Bowl games show the coaching staff is not on the ball.

Yes they went to an NFL team last off season to help scout Iowa's tendency's. My guess it was New England.
