On one hand it is nice to see all the highlights and our program being talked about.

On the other hand the conversation is that we are a lowly program blue bloods should never lose to.

So will this help us or hurt us in recruiting this year?

We are in a football no-mans land as Hawkeyes. I personally know people that are fans of schools all over the country and their perception of Iowa is "We arn't afraid of Iowa, but we don't want to play them either". In the BIG10 they say "We can handle them here, but they could beat us in Iowa City". Nothing more - nothing less.

I think it has minimal affect, but even some negative attention (depending what it is) can have a positive impact in terms of exposure.

Iowa is not a name brand program nationally, so it's not like some sort of reputation is at stake here. If a recruit is considering Iowa, it's because they've connected with the coaches and believe KF and staff have a long track record of developing kids and helping to put them into the NFL. Iowa is a respectable, clean program that does things "the right way." If a kid isn't looking for that, they were never considering Iowa in the first place.
