Dominated At Home By TCU

Wow, I feel better that it was close and that they beat Kansas. Lol.
Just keep accepting mediocrity and making excuses.
Reminds me of football. Except we get destroyed in bowl games now.
Why is admitting that TCU played a great game and was well coached accepting mediocrity? Most people here admit that we had too many turnovers, and missed to many free throws too win a tight game. Was proud that despite that our young guys hung in and nearly pulled one out. Of course it's easier to take your route and come on here when we lose, and post WE SUCK,WE SUCK! Hey if that floats your boat, good for you I guess.

I don't know why I opened this thread. It's exactly what I thought it would be.

Iowa shot less than 50% from the free throw line, played less than stellar defense, and needlessly turned the ball over. With all that said we lost by 2 in ot.

TCU isn't a world beater, but they were good today. Basketball is a sport and they are not as predictable as you want them to be.

Why are people arguing about the drive from Lawrence to Kansas City? You don't think Kansas fans are all over KC on its own? TCU has no fan base in anything. It was a Kansas home game.

Because losers come on HR after a loss...u should know that by now. Losers cannot accept that the other team just doesnt lay down.

TCU is a good team..and our miscues (in 1st half & OT) helped them win the game but that doesnt mean they dont have players.

Our baseline defense has been mediocre ... I;m thinking with the addition of Garza & Nunge & a summer of practice, trip to overseas....the interior defense will improve...as well as rebounding.

JBo (love the kid) cause he doesnt BS...basically said the TCU PG was one of the best he played against all year...not only quick...but smart. Said he knows he needs to get better defending off the penetration.

was in Lawrence Kansas for 4 straight days last week...and stayed overnite in KC...ya I would say there are a few Rock Chalkers''' in KC.

TCU played lights out. They were shooting about 60% into the 4th Q. We had no answer for their inside game-- none. Easily played one pf the very best games against us of anybody.

Sometimes I do worry about intensity. Fran has been vilified so many times for his intensity. Does Fran worry that he is going to get suspended again for being intense?

Just makes me think some people need a diaper change and their bottle. Wow, why do certain persons even follow sports? I mean, there are a couple hundred, plus, teams that would have traded places with us. What were we, the eighth youngest team in D1? Do the math, a tootload of guys are older than our guys...and accomplishing far less!

If anybody says they expected much more from our guys this year, they are lying. In fact, I will bet if I go back and look for them I'll find plenty of posters who were certain we'd do worse, like one who said we had Cook, Jok, and the rest of the guys were no better than MVC level seventh and eighth guys! Same people. And Iowa overachieves from their expectations...so they move the finish line and complain again!

I'm prohibited by the rules from saying exactly what I want. It wouldn't be nice. So I'll say this, to the lemon suckers who behave in such a childlike manner when Iowa loses a game here or there, please, PLEASE find a local sports bar and stand up and shout some of the (*&^ you post. Please.

Just say it Dan...usually they are asleep at the wheel. If not then you will get it off your chest and and your post will "disappear" It's always worth taking the chance(motto)

Let that sink in for a minute. In front of a sell out crowd that was energized, you get dominated at home by TCU.

Can you be dominated in a two point loss in over time? If so we need to update the English language to accommodate this new definition.

Did you hear this on CNN? Seems fake.

Dominated? No. Lack of interior defense, FT shooting, and turnovers disappointing. I was entertained and feel pretty good about the team in spite of the loss.

Iowa clearly didn't play as well yesterday as it has on occasion in the past. But TCU is a pretty good team, and was playing without its starting PG, so there's that. Disappointing way to end the season, but my guess is that if the average Iowa fan had been offered this season prior to it starting, he would have taken it in a heartbeat.

The thing about Iowa this year is the future potential. At times they even played better without Jok in the game.

TCU is a good team although without Fisher they aren't as good as they were and am surprised Iowa lost but they have some really good player and is the kind of team I thought could give Iowa problems.

Who is accepting mediocrity and making excuses? Everyone is just reacting to a ridiculous post that said that Iowa was dominated by TCU, which they clearly were not by any definition.

And football has been a lot less mediocre than basketball for the last few decades. It's just that you can still play for the national title in basketball with a mediocre regular season.

Still can't believe pemsl is the last guy to touch the ball :(
Pemsl with a shot inside the freethrow lane wide open is a play I would take every time. (Might prefer Kreiner for same shot though). Iowa had another game earlier in the year where a 3 was forced from spot Bohannon passed from at the buzzer with a wide open Moss? at same exact spot as Pemsl. I think if Pemsl would have had an extra 1/2 second on the clock he makes it but had to rush it so much he short armed it. You can't always make every shot, but that was a GREAT look to try to tie the game. If anything, Bohannon could have passed it one dribble earlier and Pemsl might have had a layup.

Losing in OT is hardly getting dominated. Huge fail by OP.

Missed free throws, turnovers, and poor defense are the reasons Iowa lost....TCU is who we thought they are. Iowa also was the less experienced team with more freshmen and sophomores. I'm more excited about this team going forward then when Iowa finished 2nd in the NIT four years ago. The addition of Garza, Nunge, and Conner is only going to make Iowa that much better....can't wait, 6 months until fall practice starts....

That was the point I was trying to make. A ton of closet KU fans in KC. Any game played at the Sprint Center is a home game for KU.

They beat KU in a neutral site game without one of KU's better players.

KU beat them by 20 in Lawrence.
You are something else (couldn't say what everyone is thinking).... To your trolling point, Iowa beat Michigan, Purdue, and Wisconsin with 3 starting Freshman. This can go on forever. Come with some quality....your opening post is ridiculous, but you already know that.

Ideas for additional OP threads:

1."Fran to Indiana?"
2. Do you think Carver NIT sellout made it hard for Iowa to concentrate on free throws?
3. Just noticed a small flaw in JBo's 3 point shooting form, did anyone else catch it?
4. I believe Groce would be a good fit right now for Iowa. What does everyone else think?
5. Why can't Iowa recruit a "big man"?
6. Anyone else find the parquet court a distraction?

OP receives some type of comp based on number of replies generated.
