Doyle overrated

Yes, my immediate thought when we lost was that it was Chris Doyle's fault.

I've read a lot of incredibly stupid posts on this site, but this one is easily the dumbest.
I didn't say he cost us the game or it was his fault he lost. I just agreed that he isn't the second coming.

If I ever was going to hire a personal trainer, I certainly would try to avoid fat slobs. #ChrisDoyle

I've actually treated rhabdo unlike the rest of you yahoos. It's pretty amazing what happened to that many team members that year.
You don't seriously believe you're the only physician who posts on this board, do you?

Recruiting is our cryptonight

This. The interior offensive line Iowa had on the field today is ridiculous. They got away with it last week because ISU is bad and there was no film on the center and right guard yet. NDSU saw those guys on film and exploited that time and time again. Iowa needs Daniels and Welsh in the game badly.

After Rhabdogate I thought a lot less of him

I've always thought that he should have probably moved on after that only because how can you push your players to the edge after an incident like that. I'm not saying that's why it happened or it was his fault. I'm just saying.

You are a good poster around here, so Ol' Doodle is not trying to pick a fight. But are you saying that missing two players, one of whom is a true soph and first year starter, on the OL is the difference between beating an FCS team, and getting absolutely OWNED up front?

Iowa.....which has spent nearly $200 MILLION on facilities upgrades the past decade (with more coming)
Iowa....with its $4.5 MILLION head coach and supposed OL expert (someone is responsible for building quality depth, right?)
Iowa....with nearly two dozen more scholarships to play with per year (see "quality depth" comment above)
Iowa....with the highest paid S&C coach in all of college football (his salary exceeds the entire NDSU staff combined)
Iowa....Top 15 ranked (we can argue the merits of this....especially in hindsight now)
Iowa....national recruiting base
Iowa....defending Big Ten West champions
Iowa....with every tactical and material advantage imaginable over NDSU

This Iowa, the one described above, can't afford to lose two OL and still expect to whip an FCS team at home?!?

If this is your contention good sir--that Iowa's margin of error against the FCS is two offensive linemen--then you should quit your job and become a PR specialist for the Iowa Athletic Department.

To whom much is given, much is expected. The line of the $60K strength coach was stronger and tougher than Doyle's. He didn't cost us the game, but has to have some accountability.

Well every time the pressure is off Kirks program we stink. KF thrives on the 'underdog' everyone counting us out role. Whenever I hear that the kids are 'working so hard' in the off season my spider senses are raised because that usually means just the opposite. The S & C program is ok but not great since rhabdo.

I was expecting the type of performance we saw against NDSU against ISU. That's usually where we see that but we somehow held it off for one more week. I think ISU helped us out a lot last week with their play.

It's too late to get serious now. Season's over folks. Now it's about how bad the meltdown will be.

Don't disagree with any of that. What I said was just a part of the absolute shit storm yesterday. Should never happen. Ever
