Czinano fouls out with 1 rebound...that's weird but she had 17 pts. Bench is 0-8 from the floor but still a solid win.
Just heard we were outrebounded by almost double digits. Probably not thrilled with that but will take the W.
Agree. We are thin in the front court and with losing Ollinger, I'll be curious what we do next year.
Agree, but it is the bad ones in the regular offense that drive me nuts.
I agree but I thought they had been doing better until last night. I chalk it up to a bit of rust coming off finals week. The open court giveaways were inexcusable, but other times the passer would hesitate a beat and let the defense recover. They will fix that.
How many years before Jennie is our coach? Bluder is now on her 20th year and still going strong, especially in recruiting. With her track record at Drake, how much longer will Jennie be there before a big dog comes calling?
Always wonder if she will get a call from Jamie before Gary needs to make a phone call.
I think having Jan on staff has been maybe the most important thing for us. I would want to retain her one way or another.
No, Jan has let it be known she'd like to replace Lisa when she retires. She just doesn't have the desire to leave Iowa for another head coaching job.
Drake had over 20. 14 for Iowa was about right. It's the Iowa State game, where both teams had only 13 turnovers that seemed really off.
Drake has lost only 1 conference game total in the last three years combined. And hasn’t finished lower than 2nd in the last 5 seasons. I wouldn’t expect that out of anyone in the Big Ten, but Jennie can coach.
If Lisa retires in the next 5 years, Jennie can come in at under the age of 42 with as many as 12 years experience as a successful head coach in Div 1. That is the kind of person that can coach here for 20+ seasons.
Jan would be as old as 55 with zero head coaching experience in Div 1 in the same scenario. If she’s successful she coaches maybe 10 years before retiring. But we have no idea how she would be as the head of a program.
I’m just worried that we end up in another Angie Lee situation where we hand the job to the top assistant that is a good x and o coach but no experience as a program leader instead of looking for the best person for the role. Angie was successful for several years with Stringer’s players, but really dropped off with bad recruiting. She was a much better assistant than head coach.
