Candy Canes fans finally did something useful and worthwhile - they saved a cat's life

So, Lewis Hamilton took out the other 19 F1 drivers for dinner to celebrate Sebastian Vettel's retirement. How much does it cost to feed 20 F1 drivers...$167,000 (converted from AED).

I've never had a meal work $1k, I can't imagine it was worth $9k each.

Keep in mind, the lower paid guys are probably making $5 mil per year. Hamilton is over $50 mil. Trying to adjust from AED to USD, they probably had $25-30k in alcohol, maybe more

I get that they can afford it, I'm just saying that most of the cost is just the location not the food/drink. It's all marked up stupid high so that rich people feel special.

There is some of that, but those guys eat at a lot of Michelin starred restaurants. Those places get the best chefs, the best ingredients. Yes, they are expensive, no it probably wouldn't be worth it to us, but yes, it's a much better dining experience than what you get around Iowa.

To me, spending $9k wouldn't be worth it, even though it's better. To a guy making $9k per lap, the quality is worth the added cost.

It's no different than a watch or a car. A $100 watch, to me, is a nicety that I don't need. To a bank VP, a $1k watch might be a necessity.

I think it's more than some. My brother and his wife travel a lot and hit a lot of Michelin restaurants. They don't pay $9k per seat. Maybe $1k tops.
