Early Trouble Rumor

149 at ASU would look a little like 285 at tOSU in terms of 3 really good wrestlers in the same spot if Stroker went there where exactly did this start anyway?

Lots of objective views here from fans looking at the program in Gopherville. Several make a lot of sense from a practical standpoint.

1. Someone said Early isn't a 165. If true... Short/Stroker/Early for two spots. Someone isn't happy.

2. All those former wrestlers with token/real jobs. Paid or unpaid or just J's real estate flunkies?

3. Eggum as a national draw someday as HC... nope!

4. Probably lots of negative recruiting against them given recent results.

5. Lots of transfers out over the last several years and losing the best local talent that aren't "legacy" guys.

Hello mediocrity.

Given past results its safe to say watching their twitter feeds may tell us if there is anything to this? Fredy and his dad would likely squash this rumor if untrue. Their twitter response game is pretty strong. Silence may tell us that somethings brewing becuase I dont think they could stay off the twitter feed if it was untrue. Heck if it was me id get out in front of it with a tweet if i read this thread.

Yes, and Marinelli's twitter account is also suspiciously silent about his decommit which is telling.

Hello mediocrity.

Mitchell, you may have missed my post on the Gboard "Minnesota has been the most successful clean program in college wrestling. The Gophers have put out strong teams and avoided the scandals that have touched Penn State, Iowa, and Oklahoma State."

Yea that and the fact his twitter feed is covered in Hawkeye stuff (even basketball!) is quite telling too. Jammenz, the answer to this isn't to pathetically try a retroll...you're a better troll than that. I'm sure after watching Terry, Marinelli is like "whoa, wait a minute...these guys are too intense for me."

Please tell me about the "scandals" touching Iowa. Poaching wild game? Burglary? Scandals typically result in penalties for the offending institution. Maybe I just missed it.

I know the GForums are pretty much inhabited by the sunshine pumpers. And those who disagree are lambasted. They are urged to leave. But even the fans there are questioning the recent results and saying the conditioning of the wrestlers is suspect. Also saying the coaches don't coach as well as they used to.

"Grappler6" is the only post here with any degree of objectivity. He sees what's happening.

Screw Stroker. He doesn't really consider himself an "Iowa kid" so I don't either. I lost all respect when he made a comment about wanting to wrestle against Iowa at Carver. The douchebag wanted to make enemies and it worked, I'll root against him the rest of his career.

If what we had to offer initially wasn't enough for him I don't want him coming back with his head down and his tail between his legs. Have fun up in Minny!

But what if I said I was not trolling, not flaming, and not fabricating while providing details? The NLWC had their checkbooks out, but Cael decided ten 165ers was probably enough. Ryan said only if you can make 149. John said Cowboy Up we can always foot the bill.
OSU backed out well before he made his decision on Minnesota. They did there job early and tested the waters to see if he would come over cheap (under market value). It wasn't there.

from my understanding Iowa didn't recruit Stroker. You can't blame him for not going to Iowa. I've heard he is a tremendous humble kid and we all know he is a great wrestler. Would be a great get for UNI. Schwab connects with kids. That is all.

I think he is talking about Marinelli

togs, go back and read the op with all the supporters jumping on and everything will become clear.

And where did it get you? Still losers, and forgot how to show up at Nationals for how many years?

what thread on Op? never read it.

Mike...he's asking you to jump on the Troll bandwagon and start a rumor that includes Iowa...For example, Kemerer went home for Christmas, watched Days of Thunder and now wants to follow his dreams of becoming a NASCAR driver....er something like that.

I am not real excited about this thread but the following phrase keeps running through my brain: "the troll of my troll is my friend"

Man... this thread went to shit in a handbag. We've pretty much got everybody mad at everybody.

We need a wrestling fix damn soon.

People will believe anything that they read/hear. Stroker and Early are great kids with bright futures in Minnesota.

Minnesota -
J Robinson - Head Coach, Brandon Eggum - Head Assistant Coach, Luke Becker - Assistant Coach, Dustin Schlatter - Volunteer Assistant Coach, Mary Christensen-White - Executive Administrative Specialist, Jayson Ness - Administrative Assistant, Tony Nelson - Administrative Assistant, Zach Sanders - Administrative Assistant, Dylan Ness - Administrative Assistant, Nick Dardanes - Administrative Assistan, Chris Dardanes - Administrative Assistant, and Scott Schiller - Marketing Administrator

Ness, Nelson, Sanders, Ness, Dardanes, and Dardanes have to be the ugliest secretary pool ever.

Rumors! The OP stated that they are exactly that.

I think the biggest question wrestling fanatics have is this... "How did this program go from so good to so bad in such a short period of time"? When that happens it begs an answer.

Fans still don't believe Minnesota could lose to Indiana, likely be underdogs against Iowa State, and all this happened without a coaching turnover.

jammenz you're a mental midget and don't contribute to good Hawkeye wrestling conversation which is what THIS board is about. I heard Stroker MIGHT be considering a change and wanted to know if others had heard the same thing. It appears others have heard the same thing. Where did I hear it? At Taco Johns talking to my buddies Steve and Tim that said they heard a few people in the stands at Midlands talking about it. Seems reasonable to ask people close to the Iowa program if they've heard anything similar and how they think it might impact our program if at all. We'll see if that plays out or not. Why your dumbass needs to come on here and pretend to know there were bad intentions behind it is beyond me. Sometimes a question is just a question. Go second guess your own fan base. I'm fine if a Hawk fan disagrees with me on a Hawk board.

Maybe a quick insert of Kwoods imojis would lighten the mood and get us on to other topics.

If this thread represents "Hawkeye wrestling conversation", oh how the mighty have fallen. Who starts a rumor thread just so HR's bottom of the barrel feeders can chime in with denigrating remarks about Stroker, calling him backup baggage, screw Stroker, douchebag?

We all know you are an idiot so I will help you out. 99% of Hawkeye fans aren't calling stroker names. A surprisingly large number actually root for him to do well since he is from Iowa. I neither root for nor against him. We can't get everyone.

Talked to a guy who knows things and he's let me know Stroker is very happy where he is in Minny. Good luck to him.

Hope things work out well for Stroker, Early and the gophers get back to not being terrible. The gophers, like the Clones have been a worthy adversary for years and college wrestling is not as good when they are like the 8th or 9th best team in the B10. They seem to have a good nucleolus of young talent in the room going forward, if those guys fizzle, then the obvious problem is the coaching staff.
