maybe the memory of the game is too fresh in my memory for rational thought, but I am just sitting here an hour later chewing on the possible reasons that this happened (although this subject seems more appopriate/likely to be somthing found on the Ohio State messages boards; i.e., why could the 6-th ranked team in the country lose to an unranked mid-major???)

But in no particular order of importance, the following may be why today turned out as well as it did for Iowa:

1) Our young tackles are finally growing up

2) Our young quarterback is finally growing up

3) Ohio State suffered an emotional letdown after last week's dramatic 4th quarter victory

4) Bosa, their best DL, was eject before the end of the first half (although we were doing OK offensively before that)

5) BF came up with an offensive game plan for the ages. (something sure as hell looked different)

6) Phil Parker came up with a defensive game plan for the ages

7) Ohio State is a bit overrated. they're a very good and talented team, but probably not great.

8) Iowa is Underrated. we have suffered three heartbreaknig losses that could have gone our way and played very well against especially Penn State. maybe we are better than we think we are.

9) The Pink Locker Rooms got to Ohio State. (Reason number 9 is meant facetiously)

I agree with everything but 3, assuming 9 is a joke :).

The Iowa offense made plays today!!! The defense was stellar again. Kinnick Magic!!!

Kirk said in post-game that on Wednesday, the coaches were thinking Iowa looked like they were taking The Proverbial Next Step from a practice perspective.

This is what happens when players execute. How many dropped passes where there today? I can't honestly think of one.

I think Stanley was capable of doing more all along. It seems the Ferentz's decided to finally trust him and opened up the play book a little. 22 touchdowns in 9 games is trending to a school record in a season for Iowa.
Now if Stanley will tuck the ball and run when he needs a first down occasionally he will be a more complete qb.

Stanley hung in there like a man and hit some 2nd and 3rd options, although the receivers did a great job of helping on some less than perfect passes. I can't remember a single negative yardage play like so many other games. Iowa football:
Win the turnover battle, limit mistakes and penalties.
I loved the play where the osu player was on his foot and he just stood there(and I think threw a td ???) lol
Great game by stanley and, well, everyone!! Staff & players

The TDs are nice, but we're probably on our way to the fewest rushing tds as well which helps him. #feedwadley :D

11) Stanley is 3 inches taller than Barrett. This helps
him to see the defense better and not throw interceptions.
Barrett helped the Hawkeyes by throwing 4 interceptions.

Got any idea how tall Fran Tarkington, Drew Brees, Drew Tate and many others under 5'10" are ?
You either have QB / passing abilities or not. Not sure height is the ultimate answer on interceptions.

"Obviously a terrible feeling right now," Price said. "Coming off an emotional last week against Penn State and then walking into a hostile environment that we knew ... Kinnick Stadium, it's got it's 'Kinnick Curse' or whatever you want to call it.

No wasted plays on offense. Chewed up yards on the ground and Stanley was close to perfect. All about execution.
