They are discussing the layers in place to prevent non-citizens from voting. Starting at the 5:03 mark through the 6:51 mark.

But specifically at the 5:56 mark the guest talks about driver's license being used to vote and he states "when you go to motor vehicles you know you need to show legal presence".

But how is that squared when Nineteen states and the District of Columbia have enacted laws to allow unauthorized immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses? It would have been nice if Margaret Brennan had followed up with this simple question.

Not having a driving license shouldn’t eliminate you from voting. Those things are mutually exclusive.

Margaret Brennan: "How does an election official certify that someone is a U.S. citizen when they come to vote."

Then listen to his response about showing "legal presence" when obtaining a state license/ID card.
So you aren’t saying anything… just pointing out somebody’s statement. You have no assertion nor any thoughts on how one registers to vote?

It’s almost like some people forgot how they registered to vote.

Many states are adding proof of citizenship requirements to strengthen voter roll integrity before someone can register to vote. However, this protection does not extend to voters that register through the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) federal mail voter registration application form. This federal form is used to register to vote in federal elections, and the information collected by the form is listed in the NVRA.

Because proof of citizenship is not listed as an option to add to the form, in Arizona v. Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, the Supreme Court held a state requirement to show proof of citizenship to register to vote in federal elections violates the NVRA. Without the proof of citizenship requirement, individuals must only attest under penalty of perjury that they are citizens. The Citizen Ballot Protection Act would amend the National Voter Registration Act to clarify that a state may impose a proof of citizenship requirement to register to vote in a federal election.

If an unauthorized immigrant gets caught voting what's the punishment? Deportation or prison? How many do you think are willing to risk that to vote for Joe Biden?
Chances of either punishment aren't very high right now, are they?
