Empty stands

Dude, I couldn't go tonight because of coaching responsibilities. My drive was 3 minutes to the school and I slid off the road after hitting black ice.

8 PM games in the middle of a work/school week will not get a lot of people there. The weather made it even worse.

So you’re blaming McCaffery? :D

I've honestly been very impressed with the last 3 games attendance and crowd involvement given we've had a winter storm warning for two of them and shi* weather again tonight in the middle of the week. Friend of mine was at the game last Friday an said it was a great turn out considering aforementioned factors.

Why can’t the other 13 B1G schools have bad turnouts too? Especially when it’s a top 25 showdown.

All of the other schools have bad weather also.

Larger population bases and thus larger fan bases in close proximity to the arenas. Better transit systems for getting fans to and from the games. Idk just spitballing here, I'm curious if other arenas have better parking setups as well, always thought it would be beneficial to build more ramps around the Carver/Kinnick area...just seems a little ridiculous to charge as much as they do for parking and you still have to walk 1/2 a mile to the arena. To answer your question though, I have no idea what the answer is, I would imagine the University would like to have it answered as well, but I gotta believe it's a combination of all the above.

That’s kind of what I was thinking too. IC metro (including CR) is at best compared to Champaign Urbana and maybe a little bigger than Purdue. Everyone else I believe is a larger metro besides State College, which doesn’t draw either.

I hope you at least got T’d up in honor of the Hawkeyes.

Haha, even worse... I had to wait for that game to end so that I could just use the gym to run an open gym for soccer. I can even coach the players right now... just make sure nobody dies.

Edit- I will have to wait to be given a T tomorrow for my 8th grade girls team.

Lets face it, no one considers Rutgers a real Big 10 game. I dont care if they are good now in hoops, its a farce.

They dont excite people like Wiscy, UM, IL, do.

Man that does sound awful....... soccer? Yuck!

It didnt entice a lot of people into buying tickets. Mondays game vs Wiscy will be full
Probably just by looking at the numbers on Stubhub. The weather may of had a little to do with it or maybe not. Wisconsin is also a bigger game so there’s that.
