Don't mind 21guns your right Msu158 . Osu guys came to wrestle and the only guy that had a size or strength advantage was maybe Bo. The troll 21dick very rarely has anything intelligent to say and his go to comeback is to say nobody has a "team" they root for just many guys against psu..
He Said the same thing to me when I said Hall will not win any national championships at Velencias weight or that Bo would not beat Dean or Brooks turns out I was right so far and 21dick is just a typical psu troll that thinks they can't loose at any weight .. Ignore the garbage that spews from a troll...

If you seriously believe the OP was a rational post, you really don't get it. That's exactly the kind of baloney I was talking about. I think there's about a 50% chance it was a pure troll job, though, just to get a rise out of Iowa fans. Wouldn't be surprised if it isn't even an Iowa fan. Because it can't be a serious, legitimate post.

Have you ever sat in the stands in a football game? Sounds about par for the course for many of the mouth breathers I have sat by.

Maybe not a new head coach but I would like to see borchel in the room. His influence at northwestern was great. He would help our upper weights way more than morningwood.

Just noticed your post count of 8. Very likely someone who's posted here before but uses bunch of aliases. Doesn't do much for your credibility. . . although the content of your 8 posts pretty much trashes that, anyway.

There is not another kid at 133 who is even in the ball park in terms of strength, compared to NaTo. What the hell are YOU talking about, hater?
 
Not sure who the OP thinks could come in and do a better job. Recruiting is the name of the game and Iowa is doing a better job on the recruiting front. I'm excited about the young guys we have and those coming soon.

Spencer Lee is going to be fun to watch. As is The Bull and Kem... The future is bright. The landscape of wrestling has changed and PSU and OSU are here to stay. Iowa is still one of the top 5 programs in the country. Gone are the Gable days. Iowa wrestling is still Iowa wrestling. We're going to be just fine.

In a way off the topic..
Now just my thoughts, In a way what is happening with Penn State is really Caels mistake. The boys that like to praise him and call him God.
1st mistake moving Jimmy G. to 141 that is what happens when you recurit to many studs at same weight. He he AA at 133 is to short for 41 and not strong enough.
2nd Mistake is taking Hall off the red shirt. Again Hall is to small for 174 he should be at 165 but they have cenzo can he gain enough to move up and let Hall wrestle where he would kill everyone?
What happen to Rashed and forget the guy that went 74 last year for heavens sake Cael has so much talent how long are some of these guys gonna sit on the bench.
Just my thoughts and know Penn State don't give a dam how us Hawks feel but is nice to see some one else getting some hate now,.,:)

Agreed. ^^ Consider these points too...suppose Gross doesn't get in trouble a few years ago and ends up switching schools and Stoll doesn't get hurt. Add those two to the equation this year and it is a 3 team absolute dogfight.

You have to be really good, but you also have to have some luck along the way since a few other teams have really elevated their programs in the last few years and it just so happens that some of those teams have a very decided advantage over Iowa in that they are much closer to more top shelf HS wrestlers than Iowa is.

I am very encouraged that the level of recruiting has been raised significantly lately. Iowa will win the NC again, and fairly soon I believe. I don't think any team is going to dominate the way Iowa did for a couple of decades.

Honestly did you even watch the finals match with nato and Clark? Clark held his own and was even able to push around nato at times. It was a back and forth match where clarks length and leverage was able to equalize natos slight strength advantage.

I remember that time I started drinking at 10 am. I also came up with some real good philosophical arguments by 1730......that were summarily dismissed after my morning coffee.

If healthy, we are competeing for 1st. We have some young guns on their way into the stable that will help us continue to stay strong and a class or 2 of them will have odds in their favor to dominate. Big programs have put big money into the sport and there are high expectations for head coaches to deliver and many of them are. It's called parity and we are still up there. 3 point scorers have significant injuries or are completely sidelined. Tread lightly on the pitch forks mob buildup.

Rasheed is third string now. The guy who was 74 last year is Bo Nickal.
Cael does a great job managing grey shirts and red shirts and roster slots. For example Vincenzo Joseph came in at 149 and moved to 165. A surprise situation handled pretty well. Your other points are like fans calling for the backup quarterback: uninformed speculation.

Enjoy the HR which is why I become a member. Got a bit side tracked for a year involving family and business but I hope to pay more attention. You Black Hawk 99 are a "Trouble making first class "MORON". I feel better now.

I have wondered the same thing. I guess it has to be a right fit and some of them can get more $ elsewhere and wrestle right away is what I have gathered. Renteria, is prob a good example. Don't know exactly where he would have fit in anymore and wasn't going to get the dollar amount he could get at UNC. We did land Warner though.
 
Brands leave, you have to be out of your mind to think that is a good option. Let's say both TnT leave and go to another school. The talent will follow them. You think Lee is coming here because of the tradition...nope. I think the Brands Co. has us set up for the future better then they ever have. He is not Gable, nobody is and nobody ever will be again. Things are different. And if you think this year is hard next year could even be harder. Calling for a change like that is not thought out and an emotional decision.

The other top recruit Cael had in that class commited to ISU was Jamie Clark. In Ohio, you had a big 3 for lightweights. David Taylor, Jamie Clark, and Logan Steiber.

David Taylor only had two losses in High school. One to Logan and one to Clark. Clark decommited from ISU along with Taylor. However, he ended up committing to Illinois not Penn State. He was going to be our next star. However, he got injured before he ever even enrolled at Illinois then never wrestled in college.

Things might have been different if Cael would have had darn near a full scholly tied up with a dud recruit like Jamie Clark for 5 years. Instead he got Ruth and well we know the rest of the story.

Agree. Some bad luck compounded things this year. As for Gross, I never thought he would be as good as he clearly is. Would have been nice to have him in the lineup this year and the next two.
