Epenesa/Fant 2020 Mock Draft

21st is a good spot for TE, usually the highest rated TEs on the board go around 18-25 spot. If Epenesa goes at 14, it'll mean he's around the 2nd or 3rd best DE in the draft.

That would be pretty good for a DE that isn't even a listed as a starter heading into the 2018 season.

I think Iowa's 2018 sack and TFL totals could be exceptional; maybe close to being the best during the KF era, but I fully expect those numbers to be distributed fairly evenly between Hesse, A. Nelson, AJE and the DT's. That's not going to get AJE on any 'real' mock draft lists next winter.

If Fant improves on his 2017 numbers this fall he will most certainly be in the 2019 draft.

Not one TE went in the first round yesterday, and this year was supposed to be a deep draft for TE's (which it still will be). As noted, if Fant does what he did last year this year, it's adios amigo.

That said, the NFL draft is an odd beast. You had two brothers selected for the first time in the 1st round, the Browns took yet another QB who will be hit and miss in the NFL (like the 5th one since 2000), another QB (Rosen) who can't keep his mouth shut and he's drafted 10th and instant millionaire and my Vikings have a golden opportunity in front of them to draft Daniels or Jackson. What do they do? They get a ball hawk, but a troubled kid that played one year at North Carolina, one year at JC and another at UCF for the Lord Frost....smh

It’s a new rule BigO. Get with the program.
Ha! Gotcha...still don't understand the draft, it really is a Vegas crapshoot. You can get some steals at RB in Rounds 3-6 yet teams are now drafting RB's in Round 1. Barkley, yes, but the kid from GA with knee issues and the other from SDSU have me wondering...

All the more reason to wait. Why waste an early pick if you can get a good TE later?

We'll see what kind of Sophomore season Epenesa has. I kind of expect him to play through his senior season even if he blows up. As an Iowa legacy and a loyal Hawk he may feel its the right thing to do to stay and contribute all four years. Hope he goes HAM this year and wrecks every O line.
