When are you Hawkeye Football Fans gonna stand up to ESPN for the way they are bad mouthing Iowa's schedule and praising everything about the SEC. Call, write, post, do something. I have. Scott Siepker has. Jon Miller has. Now it's your turn. Let's do this.

I think a lot of Hawk fans take for granted how lucky we are to have someone like Chris Hassel on the inside. He not only makes sure Iowa is not ignored but shown respect whenever he is on the SportsCenter set. He also went out of his way to get that reply to the SEC fans on the show as well. It is so frustrating listening to so much uneducated national media but at the same time the Hawks need to just keep winning football games. Screw 'em. If we take care of business then it won't matter what their opinions of our program were after the first 8 games. Win out and we're in. Go hawks

Ehh, It doesn't always have a positive affect. It can come across as pretty whiney and annoying. Jon Miller kinda does. Pretty sure Russillo's attitude is now half because he was annoyed by all the tweets he has gotten. It will all work out if they go undefeated.

IGNORE THE TALKING HEADS. Anyone who isn't an SEC lover understands. When the SEC schedules games north of the Mason-Dixon line in November, we will talk about real football. Same for fans, easy to attend games when the temp is 70, not so much when it is 7.

Hey I mean the national media always has their facts right. Cowherd said today we knew five years ago that we didn't play anyone in conference and scheduled a weak no conference. I mean it wasn't like five years ago the division were different and we weren't in the same one as Michigan and Michigan State....

Cowherd likes to hear himself talk. He has never been a fan of Iowa's IMO. He also likes to say controversial stuff just to stir things up.

It's all smoke anyway. Win 13 games, and we're in, lose one, and we're not. It's that simple, and nobody's opinion matters.

It would certainly be possible to get in with one loss and a decent win in the CCG, especially if it's over undefeated MSU or OSU. The big 12 still doesn't have a CCG and likes to make it's best teams happy with sharing co-conference championships anyhow. That certainly didn't help them last year.

Once again, we need to just stop all the complaining about what the national media says. They're going to write their own narrative no matter what happens and all our shouting and whining and name-calling and antagonizing media members because of things they said, will have been wasted breath. E-junk and in one ear and out the other (though that's about what it is right now anyways).

We seriously need to stop being so defensive about this. As everyone is beginning to understand, if we win out, it doesn't matter what the media wants to say about us.

Honestly, what is the national media gonna do if Hawkeye fans stop writing in and complaining on social media about what they say? They'd be talking to no one and after a while they'll let it go. They're already gonna drop us if we lose, and if we win out then they won't be able to avoid us.

So for the last time...............sit back............and enjoy the ride.

Think of it this way. Forget that it is Iowa at 9 right now. If a power 5 conference team at 9 is undefeated, then wins its final 4 games, wins its conference championship vs a top 4 team. Do you really think that team is going to get left out? Here is the danger if the committee even thinks about doing this. First they have been instructed that conference championship weighting is HEAVY. So someone with one loss and no conf championship may be sitting in a good spot today, but undefeated conf champions will jump them. Next, the worst thing that can happen to the committee is the team I have described above does not get selected in the final 4 teams and goes on and wins their bowl game. So you will have a 14-0 team from a power 5 conf that never got a sniff. This is a disaster for the committee. It devalues the National Championship. I will say it again and I don't care who is ahead or behind us with 1 loss.....undefeated power 5 conference champs will not be bumped out by a 1 loss team.
Next up Indiana!!!

Because it does not change anything. The video about the SEC myth was funny, and got shared all around Facebook, but it doesn't change anything. You writing a blog post or writing a letter to ESPN doesn't change anything.

The only thing that changes anything is winning the next 4 games followed by the B1G Championship. Nothing you write, nothing they say changes that.

I have heard countless times that Baylor hasn't played anyone. I have heard several times that tOSU hasn't played anyone.

Do what the Monkey says and "relax". If we lose to Indiana we are going to be a national laughingstock.

That back-loaded B12 schedule...my personal opinion is what does that actually prove?

To me it proves who is the best in the B12...but doesn't prove squat as far as a national aspect. Their non-conference results aren't changing.

Correct me if I am wrong...but is the best non-con win for those 4 teams Oklahoma winning at Tennessee?

Except for Mike and Mike, I have started to change the channel when they go off the air. I hated Cowherd's show......and the afternoon guys are just about as bad, so off to a different channel. Just about punched my radio when Brad Edwards was talking about how a player that gets a DUI isn't a big deal.......and he was only trying to elude a DUI check point......it wasn't like the officer pulled him over for swerving.

That Cowherd (Coward) is a real hack; the Jim Rome of the 21st Century. Never has anything good to say about anyone except Kobe and a few of his other favorites. And if he really accused Iowa of scheduling a weak non-conference schedule (which it is not) to coincide with a weak conference schedule, then he must think the Iowa Athletic Department is brilliant. They apparently knew back around 2006 that the Big Ten would have expansion in 2011, have the Leaders-Legends division lineup, then have expansion again in 2014, with a shakeup of the divisions, that happened to come at a time when Michigan State was having their most successful run in years when they were moved to the other division. Their amazing clairvoyance also brought to light that in 2015 we'd be playing against 6 teams with new head coaches, that Wisconsin would be down a bit after recently going to 3 straight Rose Bowls, and that Nebraska would have their worst team of most of our lifetimes. I guess we should tell him "Thank you."
