ESPN’s BPI is a team rating system for men’s Division I basketball that measures how powerful a team is likely to be going forward. It accounts for the game results, site, opponent strength, scoring margin (with diminishing returns for blowouts) and pace. ESPN’s Sports Analytics Team enhanced the model for the 2016 NCAA tournament by adding even more predictive features such as distance traveled from home, days of rest and altitude advantages.

For Iowa:

23% chance to advance to Sweet 16
13% chance to advance to Elite 8
05% chance to advance to Final 4

ESPN's BPI also gave our football team a 0% chance of going undefeated in the regular season. The creator of it needs to bend over and get violated by a roll of quarters.

I like Iowa's chances better than those of Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, California, Arizona, Utah, Baylor, Texas, West Virginia--just to name a few. And yes, I would agree the odds are 50-50: It's either Iowa or Nova. Hard to spin that. So yah, I'll take those odds.

BTW: Brilliant analogy: Iowa vs Nova is equal to a 2-year-old vs. Lebron James. Nice try, but that's a pretty huge fail. Odds on that: 100%,
