You suck.

Mike did the right thing, and avoided the "stall ride" that Brown puts him in every time. Brown did nothing, he's a coward, and I hope he gets his ass pinned in the finals.

Say what you want about Brown, but if Evans goes into a match knowing he can't score from bottom, and can't score from top, one would think he wouldn't go the whole 7 minutes and never take a shot so that he might, you now, score from neutral.

Agree with #2 and #3 posters. Thought Evans was going to get that first takedown in the 3rd.

If he wouldn't take the 1st period I would be happy.

I'm with you. He isn't. It was a hard fought match where both wrestlers had faced each other in what seems like a million times. I will be cheering for Brown tomorrow night.

Re: How is Brown a coward?

Evans showed a lot in the last half of the 3rd period - wish he would open up like that from the opening whistle

Yeah, he's a good guy - great student, will serve his country, never any trouble at all. I like when him and Evans battle - it's generally incredibly hard-nosed, but, ironically, there's almost no extracurriculars. They charge each other like 2 bull moose.

If Evans meets and beats Storley again, Storley's head might explode.

Re: How is Brown a coward?

Brown is a solid wrestler. So is Evans. Evans forgot how to score from neutral. Or the coaching helped him evolve to this. Frustrating to watch Mike.

Re: How is Brown a coward?

If you can't escape from the bottom at this level you do not deserve to be in the finals.

You have to be kidding me. If you can't root for Brown tomorrow, I'm surprised you can call yourself a Hawkeye fan. Best guy won. End of story. I'll root for Evans to take 3rd.

LOL! WTF is that?

I would love for you to explain the logic for an Iowa Fan to root for a Penn State wrestler. Any Penn State wrestler. Because they're in the Big Ten? LOL!

I'm sure Brown's a great guy, but he's not one of ours. Therefore I will not root for him, and will most likely root against him (for sure I will root against him against a guy from Pitt). Doesn't mean I hate the kid, I just don't want Penn State wrestlers to win, simple as that. The more losses they have the better I like it. Call me crazy.

You can put the Gophers, Cowboys, Buckeyes, Cyclones right in there as well. There are guys on other teams I really like. Robert Kokesh, Logan Steiber, Logan Storley, just to name a few. But I wouldn't openly "root" for any of them, unless they're wrestling someone we're in a battle with for a tournament title and it helps us.

+1

I'm sorry it has been frustrating to watch Evans wrestle. Too many Iowa wrestlers that wrestle this way. The Iowa Way has ridden off into the sunset and this championships shows it now more than ever.

Gobblin: You are criticizing PBS's intelligence for his very appropriate response to an idiotic post? Maybe you should have been the one to let it pass. I like PBS's contributions, without qualification, and I don't think less of him for suggesting that the other poster's criticism of Brown was preposterous. Lighten up, man.

Brown did nothing? Amazing Black and Gold glasses you have on there buddy. What exactly did Evans try to do? He took one decent shot the entire match (at which point those of us lucky enough to get to watch the meet on ESPN got to see Evans mommy jump up and down as that is FAR more interesting than actually seeing the wrestling), and then in current Hawkeye fashion he decided to stall his ass off and not make a single offensive move hoping to score defensively

Evans didn't deserve to wrestle for a National Championship

Does the name Jesse Whitmer mean anything to you?
