Everything that I have read has said that CJF's injury

And, sometimes the player makes it easier for the defender by finding a spot in the corner and staying there most of the game.
I saw at least 3 or 4 times when Weesy tried unsuccessfully to go to the hole. It ended badly every time. I think that sometimes you need to give your opponent some credit, and I believe Kalshcheur (sp?) is an underrated player. His shot hasn't been on, but he is a very good all-round player IMO.

I think Weesy needs to get stronger, keep working on his ball handling, and move more effectively without the ball. You do realize that he has a decent chance to be third-team all B1G as a sophomore?

I don't actually get to listen to Dolph, but from what I have read - Dolph seems like he colorfully describes the game - just 3 minutes behind!!! :D

Hes always behind because he stops to expound on irrelevant points but when he actually tries to describe a play it's just as confusing.

For instance, he calls shots and passes "lobs". And apparently that doesn't register with him as being not a good idea.

Listened to Fran on the Gophers pregame radio show, and he made it sound like C.J. could play Thursday against the Buckeyes. Surprised the hell out of me after reading all the Doctor's opinions on here.......

Lol, its the second time this year the board has declared CJ done.

I hope this is true, injury definitely didn't look good when it happened, but players respond differently to pain and injuries. Reminds me of De Santo going down in the wrestling dual against Penn St. Injury appeared to be really bad/potentially season ending and low and behold he was back this weekend and looked fine.

For those calling out JW on his heart/effort give me a break. Pretty easy to throw shade on an internet forum behind a keyboard. I'm as frustrated as anyone about his performance today, but as others have pointed out, Kalscheur played him close and just didn't allow Joe to get a rhythm going. We got the road win and that's what matters, no need to knock one of our better players.

Why? I mean how many basketball radio play by play guys really can paint a picture anyways ?
I am in California for a few days and stumbled across the UCLA-Washington State game the other night on the car radio and listened for a few minutes. Apparently, someone wildly missed a 3-pointer. The Bruin color announcer said (I swear), "Taking all these threes, they're just going by numbers instead of playing the percentages like they should be."

I think Minnesota played tremendous D on Joe W but there were a few trips where his D effort was lacking in addition to the trip where he short armed a lay up and jogged back... last one down the court. Seemed like a very frustrating day for Joe. I expect a big game vs the Buckeyes.

Yes, sometimes you do need to just tip your hat to the opponent and say good job. Carr has been a fairly inefficient, but volume scorer this year. In the 2 games against Iowa, he's been awful. Iowa has played good defense against him, and some of it is he just missed shots. Same for Wieskamp. Without Frederick, all the defensive attention is on he and Garza. All of it. The fact Iowa won with him scoring 2 points is nothing short of a miracle. Hoping he bounces back against OSU this week.

It won't be easy against OSU Thursday. They seem to be getting back to how they were playing early in the season, when they looked like a B1G contender and top 15 team. It would sure help to get CJ back earlier than expected, but if the doctors somehow clear him, I think Fran should be very cautious and maybe sit him an extra game. Weesy will probably draw Andre Wesson against OSU, another underrated really good all-round player IMO.

Tim Miles, in a day full of gaffes, also said that he wonders if Otoro will intentionally miss the second FT if he misses the front end of the one and one. And also said Iowa had another foul to give after Evelyn gave the 6th with about 11 seconds to go.

Another one was claiming that if CJ wasn't hurt that he would have been the primary ball handler at the end of the game.

Lol I’ve not been so interested in what shoes a player was wearing in a long time. The moment FS1 went to The Barn I was looking to see if CJ was there and what was on his foot.

Me too,.. was surprised to see that he traveled, and even more surprised to not see a boot....

I don't like calling out players just as much as you but in reality I haven't seen many posters questioning Weiskamp's heart or desire. In another thread I questioned his mental instincts when things get tough like they have with no other real outside shooting threats. Mindset matters in sports like in many other things in life. But apples to oranges comparison when you equate that with desire and work ethic which Joe seems to have in spades, a guy a Hawk his whole life it seems.

Imagine if Weezy had the balls of CJ... All-American
I guess my response was more directed at this assessment, I equated this to a knock on his heart/effort so perhaps I was off base. Joe struggled shooting at Indiana and perhaps that hangover carried into this game, so you may be on to something in regards to being more confident/mentally tougher. He is only a true sophomore though and he has made clutch plays i.e. game winning 3 last year to beat Rutgers. I feel like he'll continue to develop both physically and mentally and its just not necessary at this time to question his stones or mental toughness given his body of work thus far.
