Fake conservatives at it again…

Oh no the horror of women choosing their own healthcare!
What is a woman? And what does healthcare have to do with men in women's sports?
I’m against trans women participating in women’s sports.

Why does this require federal legislation?
Bc that's the only way this madness ends apparently.
I'm actually okay with this. Once it's passed, that will eliminate 95% of all GOP talking points. They will be forced to move on to something else.

Brace yourself, Greenland!
Gonna be Orangeland soon.
Again, Republicans are for freedoms they ALLOW us to have.
Freedom from retarded leftist ideology should be celebrated.

Just let it pass, Tom. Biological men shouldn't be competing in women's sports regardless if it's a rarity. It's the GOPs #1 boogieman. Once defeated what will they have after that? You can only rename so many bodies of water before you have to start tackling actual issues. Win/Win, IMO

It won't end with girls sports and bathrooms. Just like abortion was going to end with Dobbs and getting it back to the states. Beating up on trans citizens is lucrative for Republicans, and the people most motivated by it will not be satisfied with girls sports.

Because democrats have been pushing it the last 10 years. If you don't want laws written, then don't vote in people who try to normalize trans.
I don't think Iowans have voted in any dems. Not sure that that's a valid point on this message board.

This. It was an easy win for the R’s because the overwhelming majority of people in the US are against trans women in sports. Now lets move on….

Why does this require federal legislation?
Because Title 9 is a federal law.

In general, I believe in minimal government involvement in people’s lives. That includes women’s healthcare and vaccine mandates. With that said, we have federal laws for a reason. Title 9 exists for a reason. Since federal law has been challenged regarding separation of men’s and women’s sports, it is necessary for this legislation to go through to protect women from having to compete against biological males.

Beyond protecting women’s sports, government should butt out of the lives of transgender people and their families.

bullshit - fix the important shit, not the fringe distraction things.

Oh, that's right, they can't "fix" anything because they have no clue how.
I understand you’re responding to Scruddy and that whatever he wrote was likely stupid, but I do want to comment on this idea that time is wasted on “fringe” things. To girls competing in sports and for scholarships, I doubt it’s a fringe issue. Even so, though, the government can multitask. They choose not to because of whomever they’re beholden to.

No it won't, it'll lead to an endless chain of judging people by their appearance and making them prove they're "genetically" qualified. Essentially destroying the right of medical privacy of the accused.

It's an unrealistic and silly standard that is going to cost a lot and hurt more people than whatever this is supposed to address.

It's not hard to support women in athletics while cutting out all the extra chatter and boogieman nonsense.

I don't think the competition for athletic scholarships is as fierce as one might assume.

Well, what the hell do propose? I've got three boys, but guarantee you if I had a daughter competing for a college scholarship and had to face off against a biologic male, I'd be fvck'n pissed off. Just because it doesn't personally effect me, doesn't mean I have to ignore that the problem exists, though.

And FWIW, I don't have a solution on judging people on their appearance, but it's been going on for generations--long before the trans issue. That poor U.S. rugby player is constantly getting harassed and it certainly isn't fair to her.

I would suggest that no athlete should compete in any event that they don't feel safe.
