Fake conservatives at it again…

I would suggest that no athlete should compete in any event that they don't feel safe.
I don't think it's about being safe, it's about busting your ass to compete fairly only to be denied that opportunity. Let me ask you this, your son is on the wrestling team and right before his match, bout or whatever you find out his opponent has tested positive for steroid use AND it's being allowed. Do you pat your son on the head and say, "Well, Johnny if you don't feel safe, we can just leave" ?

I don't think the competition for athletic scholarships is as fierce as one might assume.
Dude, competition for athletic scholarships is extremely fierce, with thousands of talented athletes vying for limited spots in collegiate programs. Many scholarships are highly competitive, requiring exceptional skill, performance, and a crap ton of commitment to the sport. My son literally asked me yesterday if I thought he could get a scholarship for college. I told him not for D1, but if he worked hard maybe D3 and there was nothing wrong with that. 4 girls off my daughter's team all got D3 schollys.

Aside from the border, can you elaborate on all the "messes" currently impacting your livelihood? Caveat: You can't include anything that is primarily due to COVID-affected global supply chain.

...and go!
Everything I buy is 22.5% more expensive than it was 4 years ago for starters. I know you're gonna claim that wasn't biden's fault, but we all know it is.

It’s common sense for the United States Congress to regulate local high school sports?

Ever read James Madison?
No, it's common sense to keep men outta women's sports and vise versa.
I don't believe the government should be involved, but something has to be done before this gets completely out of hand. The Athletic Departments and schools should have never let it get this far.

Please tell me you're not this fvcking stupid. The price hikes over the past few years are, IN FACT, mainly due to the global supply chain disruptions caused by fvck'n COVID. Factories completely shut down, shipping was delayed, and labor shortages affected production and delivery. Ports were clogged, and energy prices spiked, which raised transportation costs. Additionally, demand for goods surged as economies reopened and people had more spending power. I don't care who the incoming president would have been, they were set up for failure. Trump simply dodged a huge bullet (pun not intended).

Other countries have also experienced price hikes due to the same damn global supply chain issues. The pandemic caused disruptions worldwide, leading to increased production costs, shipping delays, and labor shortages everywhere!! It's not just a U.S. issue—it's a global, dipshit.

Caused by policy in general, not simply from covid mismanagement/waste. Biden blew up the budget and spent money like crazy. You're coping massively bc the left is incapable of taking responsibility for their policy failures.

Orange Jesus added 8 trillion to the national debt but MAGA-bot Ryan wants to tell us about spending to clean up the mess from Cheeto's utter and complete mismanagement of Covid.

Don't let facts get in the way of a great narrative. Right?

Trump spent around $3.1 trillion for the CARES Act and Consolidated Appropriations Act, which provided unemployment benefits, stimulus checks, loans to businesses, and support for healthcare.

Biden spent about $2.9 trillion with the American Rescue Plan, which included stimulus checks, extended unemployment benefits, state and local relief, and funding for vaccines and schools.

What's the spending track record of the current administration? Over trump's term he added 7.7 trillion to the debt (which is absolutely unacceptable and my biggest criticism of Trump in general). However, 15 percent of that was kept in cash reserves for possible covid spending per treasury secretary Steve mnuchin going into biden's presidency. Biden spent that trillion dollars plus another 7 trillion on top of it. Factor in the 15% carryover and trump added 6.5 trillion to the debt while biden is over 7.9 trillion.

There is an entire industry that matches people with available scholarships and grants, many of which go unfilled.

If an athlete is in the ballpark of skill and is sufficiently motivated, most will find an opportunity. It may not be their first, second or third choice, but that's life.

They’re not regulating high school sports. High school sports associations are perfectly free to let trans freaks compete in girls’ sports if they want. The schools just can’t do it with federal money. Congress controls the purse strings under the constitution, after all.

How many girls in this country have lost out on an athletic scholarship to a born male? How many girls are homeless in this country? Which issue do Republicans talk about? Yes, that party is lost.
We've seen how dems encourage homelessness while pissing away money. 24 billion in CA alone and the problem keeps getting worse. The problem is dems have no ideas. They talk about problems and their only solution is to throw money at it, though it usually ends up in the pockets of their friends and special interests with zero meaningful work being done.

Tom,

I like you, but you asked for it.

Title IX is a federal law and therefore within the purview of the federal government. Your questions regarding how many girls have been affected are irrelevant. Title IX exists for a reason along with laws prohibiting sexual relationships between teachers and students. The prevalence of incidents is inconsequential to the merit AND necessity of those laws.

What the federal government should do about homelessness is not really on my radar or a federal matter IMO. If, however, the playbook to address homelessness has been drafted by Gavin Newsom and California Democrats, I hope the federal government passes.

Last, the US Congress can multitask.

Okay, but how does that address a situation where a top female athlete is forced to compete against a biological male?

I honestly don't think anyone should be forced to compete in any situation that they don't feel is in their best interests and sympathize with the hypothetical. I also think those situations fall far below the level of state and federal government intervention. These are community issues that are highly personal and carry more than a little potential for high rates of problems on the basis of medical privacy and personal liberty.

More to the point, if non-governmental bodies want to lay out clear qualifications for competition, they should.

He inherited an economy in full recovery and then steered us right into a recession in 2022.
You know, Ryan, you used to be a much better troll. I think your slide is due to these current characters' being around for too long and repeating the same nonsense over and over. There's no originality.

To your comment, Biden inherited an economy mired in a worldwide downturn due to Covid. The truth is, he navigated the US through it with better results than the vast majority of the other industrialized nations including those in the Americas and Europe. If the economy was in full recovery in January 2021, why did Trump issue a 2nd round of stimulus checks in December 2020 just one month prior? Stimulus checks, which by definition, are given out to "stimulate" a weak and failing economy.

Be better Ryan.

The trick is however, that very few schools don’t accept some amount of federal funding, so they have an opening to have a say.

It would be a murky legal area I think, but I don’t think the federal government would have no say whatsoever if they wanted to.
