I read awhile back a quote from Nick Sabah saying that Kirk and company could really coach, and that the BIG should watch out if they got more elite recruits. Well maybe this is the year for that elite class of athletes.

I paraphrased because I could not fine the article, so the quote may have been different.

I agree, when you take these young men and build them up year by year. Coach them into solid players in the Big 10, and get them to be a big part of the community and graduate...you've got something.

No I said in my post that Nick said " the big ten better keep and eye on Iowa cause KF is it's best coach and if they every got elite recruits, they would be dominate"

The evidence is 12-0 regular season with mostly 2 & 3-star recruits they have had to develop.

I think Kirk's biggest challenge has always been recruiting. A lot because of location and competition for the good players in the Midwest. It took a long time to even get Iowa on the football map. Fry did the heavy lifting and Kirk has had the hard task of trying to move the program further. Hopefully with social medium and a younger coaching staff recruiting will get better. It's nice to see recruits coming from places other than the Midwest. Maybe Iowa football is getting noticed nation wide.
