Flag planting at Ohio State would be felony under proposed law

Assault is allowed after a game with no legal consequences, based on the last OSU- Mich game. If this passes, it is ridiculous.

Nothing says freedom like laws against freedom.
Stupid Constitution and free speech be damned.

Glad to see the Ohio Legislature is handling the people’s business. JFC

Nothing says freedom like taking away someone's freedom.

Legislatures getting paid to propose this type of dumb shit should be removed

I think they should lean into flag planting. And the defense to the flag planting.

If you win at a rival team’s stadium, you have 60 seconds to successfully plant your flag at the 50 yd line. If you successfully do it, your school is entitled to the revenue from that game (tickets, concessions, merch, etc). If the home team successfully defends against it, they keep the revenue and a shred of dignity.

Hear me out… no more balls. FootFlag. 50 yards to plant that sumbitch in the logo. I’d watch every Saturday.

The absolute stupidest part of this is, if my read of the bill text is right, it would only apply at osu. Not Toledo. Not Cincinnati. Not Youngstown. Just osu. So strangely, any phony public safety rationale only arises at osu. Maybe the problem is osu???

And of course only football.

Suck it up losers

This is some of the dumbest legislation that's ever been proposed. How about this, if you don't want opponents planting their flag on your 50, don't be dickheads... and win. To the winner goes the spoils.

I wonder, does the language of the bill allow an OSU flag to be planted?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Wow, I thought planting the flag was kind of tacky and in poor sportsmanship. But making it a felony, this sort of puts me on the side of the flag planters.

Like what a weak ass response too. "You planted your flag in our stadium. . . oh yeah well we're gonna make that a crime." I mean can you imagine in 2 years time OSU loses at home again to Michigan and their head coach or their players are rushing to call 911 to report a flag planting and Columbus PD and OSU PD are rushing en force to buckeye stadium to arrest the entire UM football team for the crime of celebrating their win over a rival school.

I really hope the legislature doesn't pass this bill.

Ohio State is such an insecure little bitch clown car for being a total powerhouse with massively deep pockets.

You can physically assault somebody on the field for 60 minutes, but planting a flag, somebody think of the children!
