Almost 3 years ago this month Iowa defeated the Colorado Buffalos 80-73 at the venue of today's game - on that night a packed crowd of Hawkeye friendly fans. The Hawks were cold from the outside (3/15 3PT FGA) but were effective inside and got to the FT line often making 25/36.
The starting five for Iowa were Moss,, Cook, Bohannon, Baer, and Nunge.
Moshe Dailey (off the bench) and Moss led Iowa scorers with 16 points apiece. Bohannon and Cook also reached double figures with 14 and 12 respectively. The main players (and minutes played) off the bench were Dailey (27), Pemsl (24 10 pts), McCaffery (12), and Garza (11). Garza ended up with 2 pts, 4 rbs, 2 assists, and 3 fouls in his 11 minutes of game action. Kriener played 5 mins got a bucket and 2 rbs.
Too bad the Pentagon won't be filled with Hawkeye fans again for this contest. Nevertheless, looking forward to a big Hawkeye victory in a few hours.
