For Notre Dame Haters

Maybe they shouldn't have been speeding in their car. Maybe they shouldn't have had weed in their car. Something that is still illegal in Indiana and a substance players know they get drug tested for and is banned by NCAA. Further more they have the right to possess a fire arm but you are required to have a license for it which they didn't. Lastly the 6th player resisted arrest and hit a cop. they knew they were in the wrong for all of these actions and need to suffer some consequences for their poor decision and actions and sounds like one has been dismissed already.

they broke the law... no question about it...
I have issue with the law itself...
now... this is what is puzzling... they are suppose to abide by the law... yet the United States Constitution is supposed to represent all the laws in the land.
and in the Constitution it states :
"...the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

by requiring a "license" for a firearm... you are infringing that right...

but listen... I really don't care to have this debate here.

I gave you my opinion on that particular situation, and I'll just leave it at that.
~thanks

So you are cool going 10-4 so long as three losses are out of conference with the 4th coming in a bowl game? Got it. I have to ask. Did you apply to ND and get rejected?

all I care about is winning the Conference Championship...
the College Playoff System is illegitimate.. therefore I don't care about it.

I would be ok with Iowa going 5-7 and making it to the Conference Championship game.

and no.. I got kicked out of High School and I dropped out of College.. and looking back, the only mistake I made was attending either.

~thanks

How does the ACC determine which 5 ACC teams the dummers get to play every year? If the dummers get to 11-1 there will be enough support for them to be in the "Group of 4"

The ACC picks the 5 teams and each team in the ACC gets to play ND at least once every 3 years. So it is done on a rotation basis.

you want to win every game, for sure... but the reality is... non conference games are not as important.

the goal is to win the Conference Championship.

if your goal is any different than that.. you don't have your priorities straight.

The goal for any big-time program should be the playoffs and NC. Yes, I understand to get there you nowadays have to win your conference but don't think for one moment that the winner of a huge non-conference matchup - like OSU and Oklahoma - doesn't take a huge step towards the playoffs when the committee starts looking at their overall schedule and the strength of their OOC matchups when comparing to other conference champions. Keep in mind, there are 5 conference champs vying for 4 playoff spots.

no no... that is incorrect... the goal IS and has ALWAYS BEEN to win the Conference Title. call in and ask Coach Ferentz.... he'll tell you the same.

the current College Playoff System is still illegitimate... you can't control who gets in.

what you can control is winning your Conference.

It's a given that most P5 conference champions are going to be considered for the playoffs so essentially that's your first goal. Teams can control their own destiny to the playoffs by running the table and being unbeaten at least in the P5 conferences IMO.

I am of the opinion that Wisconsin is a Big Time Power House Football Program...
their Big Ten Titles in recent years bare that out...
I also have a very high opinion of Northwestern... after all, they were a 10 win team last season...
and a little lower than those 2 teams, I regard Michigan highly as well...
beating those 3 teams is more difficult in Conference Play... then it is beating Michigan State(whom we will probably have to play again) and Stanford in non Conference games that won't be as important for those teams.

you could make the case that it is beneficial for those teams to put together a vanilla game plan that doesn't reveal too much about themselves when they play Notre Dame.

if they expend everything they can trying to win a non Conference game, they might come up empty trying to win their respected Conference.

keep in mind... not only does Iowa play 3 Ten Win teams from a season ago.... but if all goes well... they will have to play a 4th in the Big Ten Conference Championship game...

and no game on Notre Dame's schedule is even remotely comparable to a Big Ten Championship game...

if you say otherwise, you are not being honest with yourself.
This just doesn't make sense and is not true. You obviously have anchor bias because you truely cannot believe that teams will not play ND as tough because it is out of conference or that they will play a vanilla offense and only their base defense. The fact of the matter is probably more the opposite. Because every game ND plays is on National TV and because of ND "blue blood" prestige, I am guessing many teams circle this game and actually (arguably) put more into this game than many others. The other fact is that conference games or non conference game doesn't matter, lose one of those and your National Title hopes are gone....ask Stanford about that against NW. If they win that game they more than likely are playing for a Title......you are simply not being objective what so ever

This no makes sense, it is also clear you have cognitive dissonance as well as a strong anchor bias. Education is extremely important and it is obvious that you could have used one. You are OK with Iowa going 5-7?!?!?!?! What a positive season we lost to Miami of Ohio, North Dakota State, ISU, and then obviously 2 conference games and yet you think we would even get into the CCG? Should have stayed for that math class in HS buddy

I can see both sides of the argument. I feel that Notre Dame has a schedule with better teams but I also agree that conference games carry more meaning. Until Notre Dame joins a conference I won't respect anything they do.

Their schedule matches up well with most P5 teams. They have Nevada, Army and Navy on the schedule this year.

Their schedule is not overly strong, as some want to believe. This has been true forever, people see them play MSU/UM early in the season, Stanford/USC late, and want to believe that represents their entire schedule. They have their share of easy games.

And who does not?

math was the only thing I excelled at... but we don't need school to learn math.
I don't want to get into this debate about Education/Indoctrination...

true Knowledge comes from God.

but yes... I would be ok going 5-7 and then winning the Big Ten Championship.

theoretically we could go 13-0 and not make the College Playoffs... therefore the System is illegitimate... all I look forward to is winning the Big Ten Championship.

that's it

"and no.. I got kicked out of High School and I dropped out of College.. and looking back, the only mistake I made was attending either." Not buying the excelled in math part, but you keep tryin'.

A good game is a good game. OSU vs. Oklahoma will excite everyone in the country. Rutgers vs. Northwestern? Not so much. Yes the goal is to win the B1G every year because if you don't do that, you can't play for all the marbles.
