At some point is it fair to expect a sweet 16 appearance? I guess not with Barta as AD
This season doesn't does help the argument against the Fran fade, that's for sure.
I'm calling a deep tournament run. Put some money on it and you'll be thanking me.
I'm putting 100 on each of the first two games then depending on who we play in the sweet 16 I'll put all my winnings on that game.
Houston and ucla would be good games. Alabama just showed they can lose to a hot Iowa team. I'm all in on the tournament. Got a really good feeling
Facing a great seed is not a bad thing....if they happen to have one of their great 3-ball shooting games, they could get an upset. Problem is most good teams actually play defense and don't let teams like Iowa shoot a game of Horse from 3pt line.
They would put up 110 points on Iowa.
A 2 seed in the BTT with a shot at a 6 seed in the Dance to a 10 seed in 5 days. Impressive. Listening to the guys on BTN radio describe Connors lack of defense was the most entertaining part of my drive

Alabama struggles against teams that play defense. Iowa is not a team known for playing good D.
And i heard the same thing about Indiana. I had a feeling they would go on a 4 game run earlier this year and called it. Houston beat Memphis by 2. Alabama just lost to a team equivalent to Iowa and ucla just lost a key player.
Cmac couldn't guard his postion ...they took him to the rack and CMAC lacks quickness to keep up or any hops to contest. Sandfort also got abused but he tries hard.....PMAC is long, but he almost never gets a blocked shot.

Exactly. It's just like when we were 0-3 in the big and went down 21 to Indiana but went on a 4 game win streak.
I'm not picking Iowa to even win 1-game in NCAA tourney...that should help their chances.

So Alford being here for less time = more accomplishments? Alford was 100% better in BTT, but pretty sure I wouldn’t give him the nod anywhere else.
Fran has done way more than Alford. Alford watched over two of the most underachieving teams in recent history(2001 and 2002 teams)(people forget that because they had a nice run in the BTT those years) and the allowed PP to play after doing what he did and then had to kick PP off the team because he did it again. The only year Alford had that was successful was 2006 the same year we lost in the first round as a 3 seed. According to most on here it only matters what you do in NCAA tourney to judge if one is a good coach. That doesn’t even take into account what an arrogant pompous human he was off the court. To even compare him to Fran is an insult to Fran.
Well 5-5 record if I can count correctly since first game in Feb. I guess for a team that was flirting with top 30, top 25 votes I would say that is not a fade but very average.
The way they lost some games and to who they lost sure looked like a Fade.
